In Starcraft the Overmind is the evil being that controls the zerg army that eventually is defeated by the heros of the story. The Starcraft story is rather solid, especially for a video game. The writers for Starcraft 2 are significantly less talented, and boy does it show. One of the things they did was have a flashback with a vhat-a-tweest it turns out the Overmind is a good guy because reasons.
