first bran was time traveling, and then hodor wasn't, and then he had to warg into hodor, so he warged in the present hodor and carried himself around i guess, and then at the same time he was still in the past staring at shit, and then they reach the door and hodor is told to "hold the door" and then hodor does it, and then for some reason bran decides he needs to warg into past hodor, which gives him brain damage even though warging has never done that to anyone before, and then the past hodor starts repeating "hold the door" despite the fact that he never heard it said by bran, and the phrase was never uttered by anyone in the past anyway, only in the present
