I think this episode above the rest in the season shows the fatigue D&D have and how they want to end it quickly.
There's quite a few important plot points and reveals in the episode but they're quickly shown and then onto the next scene.

Season 8 is confirmed. D&D are "negotiating" with HBO for two half seasons, with like 7 or 8 eps each for the next two seasons. However, HBO wants two regular full seasons, if not MORE episodes (like 13) for at least one of the last seasons. It's also rumored that HBO wants at least a 9th season.
It's pretty clear that D&D want out at this point, though. Coincidentally, HBO's president of programming just left... whether he was fired or resigned I'm not sure.

Very good. Arya's arc actually has a great bit in it (though it has nothing to do with her, she's just watching) and, being completely honest, the ending made me cry like a bitch. I've never really got emotional to this show before, mostly watch it for the same reasons as everyone, for the interesting characters, schemes, etc.
there's something incredibly moving about a character/person that's so simple-minded and earnest like Hodor, whose whole existence is just to help out and serve. Literally the only purpose Hodor had his whole life basically was to hold that door to save Bran's life, and ultimately the future. His entire life was shaped and changed without his control for a sacrifice that down the line probably saved the entire world.
