To the average show viewer, what impact does the 3ER even have on them? To book readers, he's a really important character which affects the narrative considerably, but in the TV show, he's an old guy sat in a cave who has literally been in under 10 scenes, and has sort of shown Bran Winterfell.
Should the general audience even care about 3ER? From what I've heard from people in real life, no one actually cares about him.
