the sequels are much worse than the first.
2 3 and 4 are ok, after that is pretty bad.
read it 6 years ago and dont remember everything but after the 4th the books started to look like a writing exercise, like he already said everything he has to said from a philosophical point and after that it was just writing for its sake.
still amazing sci fi, probably hte best there is, but not as deep and groundbreaking like the first 4.

the narrative isnt concerned with aliens, dune is basically a parabole about humanity in space.
