Thought it was a bad idea when I first heard about it and the trailer's miserable so it seems like I was right. so, since this false controversy (seriously, this shit is all on gawker and other clickbaiting assholes) is gaining steam again, I've finally watched another trailer for this mess, the international one.
Now, the fact that Chris Hemsworth, who basically plays Annie Potts in this, in the trailer seemingly is only employed because the Ghostbusters want to ogle him, and is constantly the source of comedy because he's such a fucking airhead, that irony wasn't lost on me.
It doesn't make me mad or anything, I don't wanna complain about it being hypocritical, what really struck me about that is how lowbrow and cartoony all that is. Not only does it lack the grounded realism that made the original film work so well, it seems like an completely wrong tone. I just keep getting a real bad vibe from these trailers, like I don't feel like I wanna watch this at all. It looks painful.

In all honesty, the trailer didn't really make me laugh. Just not my type of humor I suppose, and different from the original. The first Ghostbuster's really blended horror and comedy well, I remember certain scenes actually scaring me as a kid when I first saw it(i'm talking, like 4 or 5). The scene where Dana get's held down by the chair arms and sucked into her bedroom, which is now a gateway to an ancient go/devil's realm, was filmed like a straight up horror movie, but with actual quality that most slasher/horror films lack.
I bring this up first because the pacing of the film was very important to sell this horror/comedy aspect. After scenes like this, they would always cut to some form of lighthearted humor, or the main characters reacting to this paranormal event, in a deadpan way from Bill, an inquisitive side from Ray, and Egon trying to explain it to the best of his abilities. And it felt really natural, we didn't need to be told, "You're the best at physics" "You're the best engineer." We were shown these things, and they were also underdogs from the start, the first scene is their department being closed at NYU and them all being fired.
From the trailer, it just felt like the writing was going to be lazy in that regard. Also, the trailer just didn't make me laugh. It felt like to much of the same from these actors, Wig and Mccarthy in particular. Mccarthy always plays the same character, and it's a shame because she can be really funny. Same for Wig. And the whole "Get out of my friend ghost!" just fell flat. People shouting a line to get a laugh from something that otherwise wouldn't be funny doesn't make me laugh, regardless of the sex.

Also, thing like the director saying "Lel Sry guize, we taped over the only copy of the original XD" Is just a super childish way to react to backlash, a little or a lot. And I honestly don't care about the whole sexism argument, an all female cast wouldn't have kept me from seeing it. But the tone of the trailer did, hell the most recent comedy to come out that I saw in theaters was Zoolander 2, and I only went because My girlfriend wanted to see it and it was at the $3 dollar theater that plays most big releases and some indy flicks for a few months after they stop playing elsewhere. I only bring that up because after the first trailer for that, I knew it wasn't going to be as good as the original, and it would just pander to the audience with callbacks to the first. Sure enough, me and my girlfriend both agreed we were let down and it didn't hold a candle to the original.
