Hello anons, I love watching films, and I would like to teach myself about the history of film and film criticism for my own edification. I am willing to teach myself about the medium, but I don't know where to start.
What are some resources for an ignorant person to become a student of film?

Take a Cinema 101 and Contemporary Cinema class.
It's a good start; they'll teach you what to look for and you'll develop an eye for things.
It really opened my eyes to how complex movies are.
