5v2 isn't very daunting when you are arguably the greatest swordsman to have ever lived, especially when your number two is a kings guard also renowned for fighting prowess and your opponents are cucks by comparison. Only Ned has any real skill and even Bran notices he can't compare to Dayne.
I don't think he expected to lose, I think he's just not a cocky prick.

Yeah, be annoyed about something they've shown happening before. That makes sense.
Elio and Linda BTFO Preston Jacobs:
I think there's a misconception in the above. The way you put it, this frames George's relationship to his readers as being an adversarial one, where he needs to actively and directly lie to them rather than trusting in his writing to provide whatever misdirection he intends and requires.
But in nearly 20 years of curating the So Spake Martin collection, attending and participating in panels, interviewing him, etc., honest-to-goodness this is how it works with George:
If someone asks him a question about something he doesn't want to reveal or answer, he doesn't respond, or he gives a vague answer, or he outright says he won't discuss it. He's never been caught out deliberately lying about plot points in his story. The theory of a connection between ASoIaF and the Thousand Worlds has been denied by George on several occasions: that unlike Asimov and Heinlein he feels no urge to connect his distinct settings into one mega-setting, and that there's nothing science fictional in the fantastical elements of the series.
People have point-blank asked him questions about mysteries such as Jon's parentage, or who killed Bran (prior to ASoS), things that are pretty significant... and yet he never lied in his responses about them when he chose to respond. There's SSM entries where he tells people he won't talk about the R+L=J theory. There's mails where he flatly told people a theory was barking up the wrong tree. There's no mails where he said one thing about a detail of the story and then it turned out he was telling an untruth.
cont.
>>69796790
Khal something
>>69796815
>I wish you good fortune in the wars to come
He obviously thought he was going to lose otherwise the line makes no sense. It was more him accepting that instead of running he was going to fight to his death obeying Rhaegar's last orders to protect the stupid tower and Jon.
>tfw ordered the world of ice and fire book, baratheon flag and a stannis pop figure
>>69796579
well no shit its 6 v 2
>>69796857
And think on it a bit further with this specific example. What Preston is describing is a kind of grace note -- he envisions a little nod at the very end of the series that will blow the minds of the hardcore fans of George R.R. Martin's works. But that's nothing but a nod. It's not actually anything genuinely integral to the story. So why in the world would this, of all things, be the one thing George is lying about to his readers? Is it worth disillusioning or disappointing people in his honesty about his own work?
Or are we to believe that after five novels, the sixth or seventh novel will pivot hard and reveal that the fact that it's actually a science fictional world is so significant that we might possibly conceive George lying about it to protect the biggest twist of them all?
It just doesn't make sense to me, in any case, but that's my opinion on the matter.
>>69796848
The confirmed in a interview that show dany is indeed fireproof
>>69796790
A Roose Bolton man, who challenges Ramsay's claim, and accuses him of murder.
>>69796901
Just because he references his other works doesn't mean they are evidence of anything, especially after George's directly refuting your theory. Yes, there are easter eggs from the thousand worlds like the statues in the House of Black and White and others you found. Know what else there is? Triarch Belicho of Volantis, the unbeaten patriot general who was trampled to death by giants. That's Bill Belichick, coach of the New England Patriots and George gloating about the New York Giants ending their perfect season. Are we to believe that the New England Patriots exist in ASOIAF because of this? No, of course not, it's an easter egg because George is a fan of football. Just like his references to his other stories. If the elements you argued that make it sci-fi aren't valid based on the author's comments, then I'm not sure by what measure you're still holding on the idea that it is a sci-fi. The impossible elements of the story fit perfectly fine within the normal fantasy genre.
Could he change his mind and have a seed ship rise up of Asshai? Of course but that's a disingenuous argument. It's fiction, in the last two books he could do anything. Suddenly introduce the characters from Sex and the City and make them have godlike powers of the infinity gauntlet if he wanted to. As of now, no it's not and you can hold out hope that he changes his mind. Nothing wrong with that, it's a story in progress. It's fine to be wrong about a theory, you even say in your videos "I may be wrong about half of this". Well, this is one of those times and it'd be a lot more genuine to just admit that than continue twisting quotes and essentially accusing the author of lying about his story to his fans.

To be fair Stannis is probably the most virtuous character. He's like Ned. He would indeed be honorable and true to his word. The problem is that he takes it to a fucking extreme and would have no trouble pissing everyone off and going to war over the dumbest shit. It's like Renly said, he never wanted friends.
>>69797972
Charismatic but not strong
>>69798015
She did one mediocre gravure video.(by gravure standards)
Then she disappeared. Some say she has gone missing/been kidnapped. As she's dropped off contact from all of her online buddies. Others say she got married, and had a child, and decided she would stop being a whore on the internet.
In any case, she's gone.
>>69798015
nope she dodged that one some rich guy got her pregnant
>>69798036
Stannis and Ned are as strong as steel.
A king needs to learn when to bend.
>>69798040
>not strong
What the fuck are you on about faggot.
They literally had to use blood magic to kill him. Couldn't beat him in a fair fucking fight.
>>69796579
I really liked the subtle touch of him being annoyed/embarrassed by the other King Guard's brashness - showed it all with just a glance.
>>69797880
>>69797921
>>69797972
I'm not enough of a stannisfag to sperg over it but defending Renly? You guys
>>69797972
Renly should have used his charisma to support his brother's rightful claim.
But being the greedy, childish faggot he was he decided to try and snatch it for himself.
Now they're all dead.
>>69798116
I thought it was Robert who was steel and Stannis brittle iron.
>>69798137
>>69798138
Renly was imitating Robert and using the right of conquest argument. There wasn't anything wrong with what he did, and he had the strength and backing to actually win. Stannis fucked it all up because he believed right to rule > right of conquest.
Which is a joke because his entire right to rule argument comes from Robert's right of conquest against Aerys. That's why I defend Renly.
>THE BRAZIERS DABID
>>69798138
We are not arguing had the better right to the throne. Stannis obviously did, since we as viewers in the world knew that Robert's children were illegitimate.
But we are not arguing who had the better right. Stannis should have accepted that he did not have the armies of the Reach and the Stormlands behind him. Renly did. Renly knows Kingslanding, he knows the politics of the land. He could bring strength and stability.
Stannis should have stepped out of the way and backed Renly.
But he was too egotistical, hurt by the fact that he was not given Storms End and thinking he deserved to be King, like a whiny little bitch.
>>69798036
Ned and Stannis are very different types of honourable.
>George confirmed the lemon trees in braavos thing is important
wew lad
Are the torrents on tpb of Ep 5-7 legit or nah
>>69798179
Robert waged a rebellion against a tyrant, not a war so that he could rule. Once House Targaryen was out he took the throne, despite not even being the one who declared or led the war, because House Baratheon was the closest to Targaryen and Robert taking the throne would be the most stable option.
If it was all conquest, Jon Arynn would have been king. He declared the war and led the efforts, politically.
>>69798179
But Robert had an actual reason to start a war
Renly just wanted the fame and glory, he was greedy and so were the ones supporting him
>>69798246
get ready for R+L=D
( T ~ T)
>>69798116
Where the fuck did you get this idea that Renly was a strong fighter and leader?
>>69798246
My guess is that she was hidden in the Reach or Dorne or some bullshit, revealing that some great family has been plotting the return of the Targaeryans since the beginning.
Probably Dorne, since Doran sends Quentyn to her and also had the most direct family ties to the Targaeryans.
Do lemon trees grow in Dorne?
>>69798331
yap lemon trees indeed grow in dorne
>>69798315
Different guy, but he was a good leader, or at least good at getting followers. Fighter and Strategist? Not so much.
>>69798309
>>69798331
Here's what George said
>>69798315
I never said anything about being a strong leader or a strong fighter.
He had the knights of the Reach and the Stormlands behind him.
He had the strongest army.
Then Stannis fucked it up and gave all those lords to the Tyrells and Lannisters.
>>69798295
>>69798301
No matter what they say about the cause or reasons, in the end Robert rebelled and took the throne from the Targaryeans by force. It was a force of conquest and that's how the Baratheon line was established. I don't blame Renly for attempting to do the same thing. I guess in the same vein you can't blame Stannis for arguing that his claim is more important. But in the end results matter, something Stannis agrees with since he uses blood magic. And Renly was the one best positioned to take over King's Landing at the time.
>>69798216
Renly should have backed Stannis from the outset. You talk like Stannis wasn't part of Robert's council or present in King's Landing.
>>69798331
But then it's not a big reveal. We already know Doran is trying to side with Dany. That revelation will not change anything
>>69798246
>>69798331
>>69798357
uhh..why are Lemon trees important?
>>69798357
>>69798367
Yeah totes was in Dorne for a while.
That's not so exciting.
>>69798216
>Stannis should have stepped out of the way and backed Renly.
That would directly contradict Stannis' character. Stannis cared so much about his right because he was the LEGITIMATELY next in line. If Renly was next you can bet your ass he would have fought for Renly's right because he would have been the rightful king.
Stannis wants all the laws and rules kept up with no exceptions, it just so happens he was the one with the most legitimate claim as well. Stannis would have fought for any king's rightful claim to the throne, he is a man of rules and laws.
>>69798280
Find out for us
>>69798419
I just did, Cannot render file. Nothing got onto my computer though
>>69798384
Why the fuck should he back Stannis other than "muh right"? The Stormlands was overwhelmingly supporting Renly along with the Tyrells. It's obvious Stannis should have swallowed his pride and supported Renly.
>>69798410
>Legitimately next in line
What does this matter to anyone except Stannis' ego and his desire to rule?
He uses the "laws and rules" to justify his own selfish wants.
>>69798367
"It does point to...Dany having a shitty memory"
>>69798382
>I don't blame Renly for attempting to do the same thing.
You don't understand the significant difference between a rebellion against a tyrant and a war fought for purely selfish reasons, by someone who isn't even a good candidate?
As for Renly getting results, he would have defeated the Lannisters but his rule would not have been fundamentally different and would have caused more instability in the long run since it would be an open declaration that the laws of inheritance are no longer in effect.
>>69798393
Dany remembers lemon trees and a red door in her childhood.
Braavos is a cold, wet place that probably couldn't support the growth of lemon trees. So many assume she actually grew up in Dorne or the Reach
>>69798447
Just like you're using Stannis' thorny disposition to deny his fucking birthright.
>muh Renly
He's dead and he failed. We'll leave it at that.
Anyone heard that HBO is making a Game of Thrones series based on these books?
I'm a little hyped and a little worried. What happens if they catch up to the books before GRRM is finished?
>>69798447
>He uses the "laws and rules" to justify his own selfish wants.
You must be talking about show Stannis or you don't get his character at all
>>69798393
Dany remembers seeing lemon tree outside her window when she was a child.
According to viserys dany spent her childhood in Brasvos.
But Lemon trees dont grow in Braavos
what most people dont understand is that game of thrones is no mere novel, it is a sexual ritual, an erotic novel, it will end up with dany and sneks enslaving westeros and the ice necromancer represents patriarchy, eventually cersei, sandsneks and danny will have everyone in chastity belts
but people misunderstood and thought this was a lord of the rings thing and now grrm is not sure if he should release the last book
>>69798429
lol, rootkit
>>69798465
>As for Renly getting results, he would have defeated the Lannisters but his rule would not have been fundamentally different and would have caused more instability in the long run since it would be an open declaration that the laws of inheritance are no longer in effect.
That's an interesting point to be honest. What if Stannis joined forces with Renly, eliminated the Lannisters, THEN had Renly killed by blood magic after coercing Renly to name him his heir for his support? Hell that would have been a lot better.
>>69798447
>What does this matter to anyone except Stannis' ego and his desire to rule?
Anyone who doesn't want a war every single year in every single region?
>>69798485
Was killed dishonourably by a kin slayer that using fucking dark blood magic.
He is burning in the Seven hells.
>>69796579
They're really trimming down the cast this season aren't they? There's already been like 10+ deaths of relevant to semi-relevant characters and it's not even halfway.

>>69798516
It would have been more effective, but Stannis isn't Jewish.
>>69798552
True, and that's the significance that Dabid was at least graceful enough to show in his last stand. Stephen did well portraying an honorable man who chose to go down fighting for his beliefs.
But fuck if he wanted to win he could have played it differently. Renly was the key.
>>69798516
If you accept your younger brother as king and even start fighting for him everyone will call you pussy and no one will listen to you
I hope Drogon shows up soon. I can't wait to see how big he's gotten
>>69798599
At the same time, he would never have ended up going North and becoming a better king if he had won at first.
>>69798528
The concept of kinslaying doesn't apply to someone who's already turned on their own family. Renly got what he deserved.
>>69798613
He's not as big as THIS DICK
haha
>>69798610
No one was going to listen to Stannis anyway everyone hated him. Killing all the Lannisters was more important I think.
>>69798482
>>69798508
so why is it important for Dany to know/remember that she grew up somewhere? That she and Viserys arent in real danger? But Viserys had to literally beg to keep themselves alive...
>>69798644
They wouldn't really have a choice. Nobody is going to rebel because they personally dislike the King because he doesn't laugh at their shitty jokes.
>>69798537
how many confirmed kills do you have
>>69798632
>>69798508
Viserys also tells her that they spent their childhood running from Robert's assassins, but we know from GoT that Robert sent his first assassin after she got pregnant.
>>69798674
I agree, that's why I'm saying he could have swallowed his pride to focus on the goal of killing that prick Tywin. Who cares if people would judge him weak or choose not to listen, they have no fucking choice in the matter. The king's word is law whether you respect/like him or not.

>>69798667
Means viserys was lying to her. Opens up the possibility what else viserys might have lied. Maybe dany isn't a targ at all.
>>69798393
She didn't actually grow up in Bravos like Viserys or Illyrio told her. Was most likely Dorne. But if her mom and Viserys went to Dragonstone and then across the narrow sea, who is he real parents eh? R+L=D and J is actually son of Brandon Stark and Ashara Dane, or R+L=J and D. Of couse this is not how the show is going to do, they didn't set it up, and it won't even come up.
>>69798667
Because it means we can't really trust anything Viserys or Illyrio said about Dany's childhood. It's usually used to play into the R+L = D theory

it's "yakusoku shite" and lyanna would call him "oniichan" because she's his younger sister. 約束して、お兄ちゃん…

>>69798784

>>69797496
That would be sick but it would be even cooler if part of Westeros was infested by Silent Hill, maybe Harrenhal, and then Dante the Devil Killer from the Devil May Cry series shows up after some dimensional travel magicks to slay the Samael that was causing the Silent Hill style haunting in Harrenhal.
Once he cleansed the cursed halls of harren his return dimension shift doodad breaks and he becomes stuck in ASoIAF and so the true faith hires him to be the champion of the Faith and Dante becomes the one to fight Gregor Clegane instead of the hound.
Dante looks like he is about to lose but he is just playing around then as a final flourish he unleashes his Devil Trigger and rips Cleganes heart out with his bare devil taloned hand.
However it's not long before the Watcher notices the intruding presence on this dimension and tries to directly intervene but the North says that Westeros affairs are Westeros business and they unite together under Sansa and Jon to turn away the Watcher and fight Dante themselves to expel him from the realm.
The ending is very tragic as Dante trivial cleaves through the army of the North and then winter comes and a tide of Others descend upon the south.
They beg Dante for help but he tells them he doesn't kill for free and that if they want to hire him they better bring the pizza. They have no idea what Pizza is though so they can't hire him and Westeros is doomed.
What do you think?
>>69798784
>>69798803
ah makes sense
So if Rhaella (Aerys' wife) didnt give birth to Dany, what happened to her baby?
“Hang this,” she said, handing him the duck. Anguy shuffled his feet. “We were thinking we might eat it, Shama. With lemons. If you had some.”
“Lemons. And where would we get lemons? Does this look like Dorne to you, you freckled fool? Why don’t you hop out back to the lemon trees and pick us a bushel, and some nice olives and pomegranates too.”
>>69798784

>>69798836
It's plausible that it'll be revealed in TWOW.
I like the idea that Marwyn was the Maester on dragonstone for the Targs, and he could reveal all the lies to Dany when they meet
>>69798881
And Aegon isn't even in the show. The lemon tree thing is a moot point.
>>69798863
All this has done is remind me of the comfy Riverland chapters that never got put in because of time constraint.
>>69797807
This is why I don't understand people who hate LF for "betraying" Ned. He just didn't want to support Stannis.
>>69798837
Possibly, or it coudl be an excuse. In Quarth we saw how people would give Dany lip service and trickets but refused to give her any actual support. A similar thing could have happened to Viserys multiple time, so rather than admitting to Dany that no-one really wanted to help them, he said they had to run away.
>>69798836

Yeah Ned really missed that during the talk with him, both in the show and books. I guess these people are pretty dense as well.

Exactly.
>>69797807
To be fair, Stannis proved everyone wrong when he pardoned his brother's soldiers, then pardoned Davos for releasing Edric, then pardoned the Wildlings for trying to take over the North. He's softer than his critics think.
>>69799060
Septon Meribald made them that way. I can't say I found Brienne's internal monologue about boy's teasing all that interesting.
So the spanish dude attacks again and basically told the entire chapter again.

Dany got Rhaeger's gene. The always black hair thing is true for Baratheons but we dont know if it is true for Starks

>>69797142

I love how you completely omitted all of the lines the show had that were raised from the books in favor of making a retarded meme.
>>69799374
but why would viserys tell her that theyre siblings
>>69799274
Well if it was R+L=D in the show's case, D&D wouldn't have made such a big deal about them being allowed to make the show because they guessed Jon's mother, then subsequently omitted the candidates outside of Lyanna being referenced on the show as well as never having Dany mention the house with the red door. We basically know R+L=J through the process of elimination thanks to the show.
>>69799374
I dont believe in R+L=D either.
The sad thing is its' been so long since the last book, people have thought of every imaginable twists.
Whatever GRRM ends up doing, will probably feel tame.
>>69799255
Nope. I have a folder that's all SFW sexy pictures, but it's completely unorganized. I have to dig for the big tit white girls. Filtering out the bikini and lingerie shots. Filtering the shots where the faces are obscured. Filtering the ones where they aren't looking at the viewer. Filtering the blondes, redheads, and light browns. I did cheat and post some girls that aren't wholly white though. I'm pretty sure I'm out of pics already, considering the filtering conditions.
>>69799461
