Don't know what board this goes on but yeah, just watched this recently, was pretty good despite the "WE WUZ REVOLUTIONARIES AND SHIETTT" cast
The songs were enjoyable
The characters were likeable as well\
Lafayette was based as fuck
Hamilton was ironically the worst part of the play
other than that it gets 8/10 for me
>>69796598
>not a 10/10 for the colored cast alone
Wow. Kill yourself anytime please.
>literally going to musicals
>>69796665
>he thinks I paid over 100$ to go see a musical on BROADWAY
>>69796598
>lafayette
I'M TAKIN' THIS HORSE BY THE REIGNS MAKIN' REDCOATS REDDER WITH BLOODSTAINS
It's a pretty great show to listen to. Gets addicting the more you listen to it.
Actually got in a car crash listening to Non Stop
I don't know how well it'll translate as a film, though.

All of the Aaron Burr and King George numbers are the best, though.

I volunteer for a childrens theater, and all the teenagers are nuts about this. I want to be a non-conformist, but everything I've heard from the soundtrack sounds pretty good. I haven't listened to it, because I don't want to hear it for the first time divorced from it's context of the stage. I'm pretty sure one of the characters quotes Biggie Smalls at one point.
>>69796665
>he doesn't watch musicals
>>69796825
>I'm pretty sure one of the characters quotes Biggie Smalls at one point.
It's Thomas Jefferson during a rap-battle styled cabinet meeting to discuss America's entrance into the French Revolution. Basically he ends his battle rap with 'and if you don't know, now you know, Mr. President'
>>69796720
How else can you watch it? Is there a recording?
>>69796755
It's funny, I can imagine the opening number for In The Heights translating way better than Alexander Hamilton.
>Lights up on Washington Heights up at the break of day I wake up, and I got this little punk I gotta chase away
Could easily be done with a couple of long takes sort of separating the small bits of Gustavi's life as he sort of narrates to the camera.
>How does a bastard orphan son of a whore and a Scotsman dropped in the middle of a forgotten spot in the Caribbean by providence impoverished in squalor grow up to be a hero and a scholar?
Only way I can see that really working is if it were sort of an animated opening.
>>69796939
>tfw Ham's response
you must be out of your GOT DAMN MIND
>>69796990
There's bootlegs out there, that's how I saw it.
>>69796990
I think he just listened to it.

>>69797117

>>69797117
Seconding, it'd be nice to put some faces to the voices.
>Burr suffered a debilitating stroke in 1834, which rendered him immobile. In 1836, Burr died on Staten Island in the village of Port Richmond, in a boardinghouse.
Oof. Anybody think he actually tried to become King of Texas or whatever?
>>69796819
That's true but Daveed rapping tho
>>69797189
That's sad.
>mfw I realized the kid from 21 Chump Street was the guy LMM mentions at the beginning of the Hamilton bootleg
Would you watch my musical, /tv/?
>>69797473
Only if it were the polar opposite of this musical.
By that, I mean a fucking Rock Opera.
>>69797352
Who?
>>69797567
A Jackson rock opera would be amazing
>musical
You're on thin ice
>rap musical
Nope.
>>69797615
The New Orleans number alone.
>>69797641
Lin-Manuel's a pretty impressive lyricist though.
In any case, the least rap-sounding tracks in the show are widely considered the best (You'll Be Back and all of King George's songs).
Check those out if you're skeptical.
>>69797609
Anthony R-r-r-r-r-ramos as John Laurens and Philip Hamilton

The Room Where It Happens is GOAT
>>69797824
Not gonna argue there, Room Where It Happens is dope.
>>69796720
>over $100
>THAT cheap
Bullshit.
>>69797786
Ah cool
>>69796939
That's funny. Are there any other references like that?
>>69796990
Check piratebay, there's a videotaped recording of the musical there. I assume it's the Broadway version, but I don't know if other versions exist, so...
Can someone tell me what the fuck this about? I keep seeing so many people rave about I figured it some over-rated shit of some sort.
>>69796598
>Don't know what board this goes on
/lgbt/
>Death doesn't discriminate between the small guys and the big
>It crashes and it crashes and it crashes
>The fire obliterates, and every flight plan it makes, it makes me in all my mistakes
>When CIA fell from the sky, he may have been the first one to die, but I'm the one who paid for it
>I survived but I paid for it
>Now I'm the villain in your memery
>I was too masked and blind to see
>I should have known, I should have known the plane was big enough for both CIA and me
>The plane was big enough...for both CIA and me
I'm not one of those anti-rap weirdos, but the King's songs were still GOAT-tier
>>69797117
There's a decent 6gb cam at kat.
There's supossedly a 8gb ver too, but I don't know whose dick you have to suck to get that
>>69802187

>>69801977
All the founding fathers are played by black people and they rap. It's a critical smash.
>>69797473
Only if his swearing parrot is his sidekick in the musical
