We could have built a new Krypton in this squalor, but you chose the humans over us. I exist only to protect Krypton. That is the sole reason for which I was born. And every action I take, no matter how violent or how cruel, is for the greater good of my people. And now I have no people.

This scene takes place in Monaco , where all the police are routinely armed. England,Southern Ireland, Wales and Scotland are the only countries where the police do not carry firearms (they of course have a firearms capacity but a small one that would not be present at an event like this ).

In this scene you do see numerous police running around , and in reality they would hopefully be shooting at the hairy whip man.
>>
Other than that "BOX OF SCRAPS!" scene and the fact that he got in a bigger and dumber Iron Man suit at the end, I hardly remember anything about Jeff Bridges in Iron Man 1.

Nearly all of them are forgettable. Tim Roth in The Incredible Hulk was based as fuck before he turned into The Abomination and Ronan in GOTG was at least really hammy and over the top in the actor's performance.

I didnt forget any of them. I dont understand how people cant watch a movie and not remember the basic plot of it, this goes for literally any movie even if its bad. Are you people just retarded or something?

He was actually really interesting, his plan unlike most villains was not to kill the superhero. He wanted to ruin Tony's legacy, show the public that he's an asshole, destroy his life. Thats why the
>if you could make god bleed, people would cease to believe in him
line means so much and is so cool. Its the best part of the movie. But because Iron Man 2 is a shit movie he has to inexplicably put on a super suit for the final act and fight even though it doesn't make sense.

Not the guy you're responding to but he's actually kinda sympathetic in Thor 1, despite being a bad guy you really can see where he's coming from. But he's not that threatening.

He's even less threatening in The Avengers. He goes full Saturday Morning Cartoon villain-tier and lets the heroes stand in line to kick his ass throughout the movie.

She didn't do anything meaningful. Until he gets Mjolnir back Thor is just a rambling nutcase with nothing to back up what he says but she's already in love with him by then. Her research didn't mean anything or effect the story it was just the reason she was there. I assume it's more important in Thor 2.

I guess the idea is she helps him mellow out and stop being a retard but it seemed like the threat of the big metal guy was enough to make him be selfless and shit anyway.

>BvS was just a longer and worse version of Iron Man 2
>It didn't even have a villain as good as Iron Man 2 did

It's seriously just the same story but BvS did it so much worse and tried to make it look good with pandering and pointless "Symbolism" to pretend it's deep.

Hammer was better than Luthor and Whiplash was better and much more relevant to the story than Doomsday. The conflict between the two heroes in Irom Man 2 makes actual sense and has proper catalysts, dialogues and developments like a story should have, while BvS was all just a nonsensical excuse for action scenes and nothing else. Iron Man 2 even introduced a woman super hero better than BvS did.

And even though Iron Man 2 was nowhere near as good as the first movie it's still actually better than BvS's attempt to rip it off. What the fuck, man.

This guy and Faora fucking stole the show.

MoS was never really all that good but its villains actually were more memorable than any MCU villain. Even if Zod's plan becomes retarded once you realize they could've just terraformed Mars.

That annoyed me, and it still does. I will slap anyone who counters with that useless female Yellow Jacket.

I would've liked them to have used Whirlwind, and maybe Egghead as the brains. Every Marvel superhero movie picks a villain with the same powers as the hero, so it would've been better if we saw Scott using his head to beat an enemy so different from himself. Also, I always liked Whirlwind's weirdo obsession with Pym.

What was good about Zod anyway? He was good for the DBZ fight but that's it. Faora had that and my boners going for her.

The one before last. This will always apply.

He was intimidating and had a motivation that was at least somewhat sympathetic and stronger than most other Marvel villains. Dude lost his home and his people, and in a sense, only really wanted to rebuild it. He's also vastly more interesting because he saw humans as ants, essentially. He didn't give a fuck about any of us, we're all sub-Kryptonians in his eyes. His characterization, mannerisms, and the way he was acted was just more memorable than most every Marvel villain. Also as per the way Krypton is established in MoS, he is literally programmed for Krypton's survival. It's in his nature to do all that he can to preserve it.

Now I did like Faora more and I would never say that Shannon's Zod surpassed Terence Stamp's, but I'd say Zod was in MoS was alright.

IMAGINE being on the bridge of the Black Zero for hours on end with this literal sex goddess right there within reach, trying not to watch as she crosses and recrosses her legs in her sexy black unitard, dispassionately musing on the righteousness of the Kryptonian genetics program and how it had freed you all from the "messy couplings of lesser beasts," the pupils in her icy blue eyes dilating in excitement at the very thought of recovering the codex and beginning Krypton's greatness anew; as all the while you listen as her breath quickens and her chest begins to heave ever so slightly in anticipation of the discoveries that await you on the latest outpost, you lose yourself in a reverie of your own most secret thoughts; the things you could do to her in the rest chambers, forbidden things that would make those lips part with passion, those breasts heave in earnest need.

Then Jax-Ur shows up with the latest status reports on the Phantom Drive. For the thousandth time, you pull yourself back from the brink of heresy. Such was the life of Zod.

Shouldn't villains just really be plot devices though? The movie is about the hero and everything else is just there to move the hero forward really.

Sure, you can have good, complex and interesting villains but that's what we have from Loki and (kinda) Thanos. The majority should be kinda disposable, no?

Well ideally the origin movie would have had proper Lex Luthor as a villain with Zod in the sequel so it'd have worked out.

I think Zemo was a great villain but I don't think he was particularly memorable, probably because he lacked center stage and iconography.

If I had to pick memorable capeshit villains, it's the Joker (Jack or Heath), Green Goblin, and Loki.

Even the colourful badguys from 90's Batman movies are mostly remembered for their gimmicks. The Penguin might count. Catwoman probably but villain is a bit of a stretch.

Let's compare villains now, shall we, /tv/?

MARVEL:
>Obadiah Stane/Iron Monger - Iron Man
>Emil Blonsky/Abomination - Incredible Hulk
>Whiplash - Iron Man 2
>Loki - Thor
>Red Skull - Cap: First Avenger
>Loki - Avengers
>Mandarin - Iron Man 3
>Malekith - Thor 2
>Alexander Pierce, Winter Soldier - Cap: Winter Soldier
>Ronan - GOTG
>Ultron - AOU
>Yellowjacket - Ant Man
>Baron Zemo - Cap: Civil War

DC:
>MOS: Zod, Faora
>BVS: Lex Luthor, KGBeast, Doomsday

Marvel's villains are forgettable and bland except Loki, Alexander Pierce, Winter Soldier (thought technically not a villain), and Ultron.

DCEU has better villains. Zod was memorable and Luthor, although a little ridiculous, was memorable as well. Joker will be the most memorable IMO.

Marvel has yet to make a villain (besides Thanos) that isn't bland and forgettable
>>
>>69676010
But people don't remember Zod, they remember his snapped neck. People don't remember Luthenberg, they remember a jar of piss.
Both their villains suck, but at least there's hope for Zemo and Darkseid. Leto's Joker is too cringey for me to be hopeful.

No. The more relatable your villain is, the more understandable his motivations, the more interesting you can make your plot and subsequently, your hero.

The best villains are never the ones who are generic evil.

>>69676177

I thought his costume was pretty awesome, reminded me a lot of Doc Ock.
>>
>>69676177
That is true in a book or even a TV series. In a mostly self contained movie though, when they're not going to be seen again?

All the Marvel bad guys have pretty clear reasons for being bad guys within the bounds of their own movies.

I've been bingewatching all the MCU movies in release order, and I just got done with Avengers (2012)

So far, only Loki stood out desu.

Only really good movie so far was The First Avenger.

When does the MCU meme get good?
