Hello /tv/. I really enjoy the motion pictures of David Lynch, but I understand from my time here that he is considered "entry level" and "baby's first surreal director".

i somewhat agree with you, you always need to be looking for new stuff
the movie that got me into film 10 years ago was Donnie Darko. now i know it's pretty bad, but i didn't need to "destroy" it, i just looked for more and more good stuff and it just didn't hold up
same thing goes for music too, i used to think dream theater was the best band ever, then i started listening to bands like slint and electric wizard and i changed my opinion
my point is: you don't need to "destroy" what you like after some time, just keep looking for new stuff. i thought the godfather was fantastic on the first time i saw it, now i think it's even better.
