On the other hand, the Dornish will be Targaryen loyalists regardless, as they can’t survive on their own and need the protection a “federal” Westeros provides, so it might be better for Aegon to marry Margaery Thrice Wedded Never Bedded Tyrell, as the Reach has the largest military in Westeros.
Dunno how this will all work out but I’m guessing Margaery will end up dying in the end, probably at the hands of one of the Sand Snakes to prevent Dorne from being marginalized.

This. Martin has said a bunch of times he doesn't like the typical fantasty tropes of black and white morality, and that he tries to make character dynamics more realistic. He doesn't like clear-cut villains. Dany is a person who is seriously incompetent as a leader, and makes mistakes which end up having seriously bad consequences. She also lets her idealism get in the way of rationality and makes more decisions that end up fucking people over because of that.
She's a perfect example of the road to hell being paved with good intentions. And Martin has apparently done a good job because of how many people seem to like her despite her bad choices.

I think GRRM purposefully did some of those similarities because ASOIAF is essentially the cynical response to LOTR. In one interview he talked about how he didn't like the fact that ''Aragorn ruled wisely'' at the end.
''What was Aragorns tax policy?, did he kill of the remaining Orcs?'' etc were his thoughts on the ending.
Jon will rule at some point, maybe he'll take the Iron Throne or Sansa will legitimise him making him the King in the North. Jon will experience rule and make wrong decisions.

my guess on the blood magic is that magic in general needs some kind of life to work. The weirwoods and wargs and greenseers don't need a sacrifice to do their magic, but need living things as conduits. Red Priests lack that connection, so the rely on the life in blood to power their spells, with the most powerful requiring an actual sacrifice.
It will be interesting to how/if GRRM will address the magic systems in his world.

After Robert's Rebellion, Jon Arryn himself had to go to Dorne to negotiate a peace treaty to prevent a counter-rebellion.
