You're not quite far off if my theory is right just FYI. Here is a quick copy pasted recap of it.
Anyone else notice that Jon came back in approximately the same time as Roose being killed? Then Jon seems less gormless and less aware of his surroundings when he comes back. He also lost his obsession with duty and decided to leave the watch after being a 'vengeful cunt' as one anon described him.
I'm starting to think the reason there was such a drastic change in Jon's personality was that his soul was broken when he was killed and in order to repair it fully the lord of light needed to use other souls. I'm 99% sure that Jon has parts of Roose Bolton's soul inside of him which is causing his drastic personality changes.
It also leads up to the poetry moment when Jon kills Ramsay that he is not only taking revenge for the Starks but also taking revenge for the Boltons.
I am really looking forward to this new Jon Bolton character and see where this new cunning takes the show.

In the show the greenseer power is a connection with all of nature, not just weirwoods specifically
I'd much rather have my flashbacks delivered to me in a manner where a character is interacting with them, not just a contextless flashback that gives you no greater context. Bran being present in the background of the Tower of Joy sequence gave it a better connection to the present-day story.
You faggots need to stop acting like changes from the book are bad simply because they're different from the source material. A TV show is not a book. They couldn't have presented the Tower of Joy as it was in the novel, because that was a dream overlayed with Ned's inner monologue. That wouldn't have worked in a visual medium.

I mean, that foreshadowing is part of it, sure, but it reveals a hint in order to explain Ned's feelings, it's foreshadowing to serve characterization. What you're suggesting is just a random fight scene for no other reason to set up a plot twist that wouldn't have been resolved for years, when they didn't even know they would get a second season. Delaying the Tower of Joy until season 6 allowed them to use it to develop Bran's character (showing a kind of breaking down of his hero worship of his father) as well as his storyline. Foreshadowing the truth of Jon's parentage makes more season here, because they're likely going to reveal it by the end of the season.

punching through armour is very dificult (if not practicly impossible), so much so that the only reliable ways to kill a knight was to take a dagger and cut him in the weak spot (usually in the armpit, through the chain mail) or to wait for someone with a crows beak, or a similar pole arm to hit him in the head with it (provided he was allready down)
knights were feared, and dificult to kill for good reason. not only because they were stupidly well trained, but because plate armour was OP as fuck
