Doubtful, probably one of those quirks of the Animus/sci-fi trope that you are speaking a foreign language but it comes out as your regular speaking voice, like Farscape.

There better be a scene of Fassbender coming across a gold chest but is unable to open it as he hasn't logged into Uplay.
>>
Is the game worth it? I've never played it.
>>
>>69418375
the first two games are great.
>>
>>69418375
The first game aged like milk. Only 2, brotherhood, revelation and 4 are fine.
>>
>>69418394
So is Black Flag...if you like pirates and stuff.
>>
>>69418375
I couldn't even finish the first one, it's extremely repetitive.
>>
>>69418375

Rogue and 3 are the best ones but nobody wants to admit it.
>>
>>69418465
The first game has a good islamic setting. It hasn't aged too badly imo.
>>
>>69418394
First game was okay but repetitive.

Ezio trilogy was great. (II is prime AssCreed, Brotherhood has its moments too)

III was messy gameplay-wise but Haytham Kenway was the best villain in the whole series. Desmond's story was anticlimactically ended there though (as was my experience with the series).
>>
They went a tad overboard with whatever that sound effect is called where it starts off slow and then booms

>>
Oh no, they're going to do the "Spanish Inquisition was a brutal authoritarian regime who slaughtered millions of people rather than a seldom used judicial system that executed maybe 3000 people in 400 years" thing, aren't they?
>>
>>69418778
They handled similar issues alright in early games, no? I'm afraid about now, I have read that they are pretty biased now, but can't know for sure.

HOWEVER, in a still they released a while ago, Fassbender's cell had a graffiti saying "Kamen". Henry Kamen has written, iirc, about how exaggerated the Spanish Inquisition is usually portrayed, so maybe there's hope.

The second one was Italian,
The third one was Native American,
The fourth one was Welsh,
The fifth one was English,
The sixth one was French,
The seventh one were English again,
The eight ones were Indian, Russian and ???
So if this one is the ninth one he is Spanish
-------------------------------------------------------------
As for games go like this

AC1>AC2>AC2: Broterhood>AC4>AC: Rogue>AC: Syndicate. The rest ones are there just to make the fans happy (rage)
>>
>>69417893
Shit.

Assassin's Creed went Jar-Jar on itself a long time ago but maybe they could've adapted it if they started with Altair and took a different path with it than the games but it genuinely looks like they're taking a Twilight approach with it trying to make Assassins "cool".
>>
The music choice was fucking terrible in the trailer.

Yep.

The only horrible things were the music and the Animus.
>>
>>69417893
I'm actually okay with this. The use of I AM A GOD wasn't exactly the wisest choice (what in the fuck were they thinking) but overall it looks like it sticks to the world of the games without being a direct copy of the games.

Also really digging that new Animus design. Makes more sense for him to be actually moving instead of sitting in a chair.
>>
>>69418375
You only need to play
2, Brotherhood, 4, Rouge, and Syndicate
The rest of the games are shit.
>>
>>69418375
AC1's great. Like this trailer but a lot more clean and Apple Store-y if you catch what I mean. The second one I've heard is the pinnacle of the series, and I wasn't a huge fan of Revelations but it was okay.
>>
>>69417893
Kanye music a shit, but Justin Kurzel knows his visuals. I wish he had made the Warcraft movie instead
>>
>>69419145
>Also really digging that new Animus design. Makes more sense for him to be actually moving instead of sitting in a chair.
It doesn't at all. When you remember how you kissed your first girl do you also make out with the air?

the fight scenes look much better than the Rogue One action
>>

The word is spelled Rogue. Not rouge. That's french for red.

Rogue.

Not Rouge One, it's Rogue One.

>>
>>69419057
Let's hope so.
>>69419221
Rogue One has based Donnie in it though.
>>
>>69418375
1, 2, Brotherhood and IV were great.
Everything else of mediocre.
>>
>>69419063
Combat took a nosedive after AC2. They turned the paradigm from timing attacks properly and keeping distance to mashing attacks as fast as you can.
>>
>>69418680
first one had best story and atmosphere. a fucking shame ubi left medieval times so easily.
>>
>>69419217
I guess you're right.

It makes for some neat visuals at least, though The Matrix did the same sort of idea with just a chair and that worked out fine for them.
>>
>>69417893
This fucking trailer looks like shit, but it has Fassbender, Cotillard and Irons.

I might see it for the casting alone, but I've no doubt the movie will be a fucking disappointment.
>>
>>69418375
>>69418488

The missions are definitely repetitive but the game world/cities are probably the best. From 3 on word the world design gets pretty boring / cities aren't that interesting to explore. I'd say Revelations probably has the best overall experience if you only have time to play one of them (you really don't need to play the others).

>>
>>69419446
Yeah it's a lot better
>>
So, are they going to make that Fassbender's face is in the past character too an Animus thing or just coincidence?

I mean, they bothered making him having brown eyes, long hair and beard and a facial tattoo, so maybe a mix of both or just Aguilar look a lot like Callum.
>>
>no altair teaming up with abbas against almualim
Why? Things always end badly when you dont follow the source material.
>>
what do you think was going through fasbenders mind when he agreed to star in this trainwreck
>>
>>69419768
Because you already saw that in the game.
Assassins Creed is one of the few franchises where following a different protag is a good thing.
>>
>>69419775
Well since he is a fan of the games I would say "fuck yea bby"
>>
>>69418375
My favourite is the first. Although it was repetitive the setting was amazing and I prefer Altair because he was actually a professional assassin.

2 was great too but 1 has a special place in my heart

>>69419768
I think it's smart that they're only setting it in the world of the games.

This still technically follows the source material, it's just not a direct copy of the source material. AC universe has the opportunity to tell stories that aren't Altair/Ezio/Indian Man/Pirate Man, and I think it's cool that they're utilizing that.

Not even played the games, but this looks daft.

Why would you need the robo harness and the bow training to visit memories of a past self?

Maybe it's so it looks less "Matrix", with Present Day dude not just lying there, but given the choice between Matrixesque or Dumb as Fuck, I'd take Matrixesque.

Evil megacorp presumably derived from one of the two factions in the past, who may or may not have access to alien tech, smart enough to send a guy they own having faked his death into his past lives or genetic memory or whatever bullshit excuse for time travel.

Yet they allow the guy to get trained and even ARM HIM in the present when AFAIK there's zero need to do so.

Guaranteed he escapes for sequel bait. What a shit heap.

The first one is the only game with some semblance of a nuanced combat system. You have to be ready to counter, dodge or grab break when facing any guard. The next game puts the guards into different classes that scream "I am going to always attack you in this specific way so you should be ready to press that specific button every time I attack."

The only thing 4 had going for it is being the only modern pirate game. It wasn't even a great pirate game, because of how you could only give your ship clear upgrades and didn't face any problems with crew morale and every fight was piss-easy. And they had way too many time-skips to make the pirate-nation story interesting.

This. It was only the introduction of new weapons that made 2+ interesting, but the heavy reliance on situational reaction made 2 way more repetitive than 1-haters seem to think.

It had a nice protag and decent game mechanics.
Sea battles were fun.

The optimization was shit though.
I just wish Ubi would make a full on pritate game with all sorts of sea monsters and pirate lore with Anvil.

And take their time with it.

Why in god's cock would they use fucking nigger music for the trailer?! What the fuck went through their heads?? I got a completely different feeling from the re edited version posted above. Fucking marketing team must be retarded.

You don't escape in the first game, actually. It ends with you staring at the wall of your holding area while you're tripping out and seeing blood writing on them.

I'm assuming the villain is going to be Torquemada? Either him or pic related (Spanish boxer champion that plays the Templar Captain, Ojeda).

With this we'll already have 4 main villains from Spain in the series: Rodrigo Borgia, his son (arguably), Laureano de Torres y Ayala.

They dindunuffin.

ac4, rogue and unity are the best ones, good graphics and more refined mechanics. the old ones are good too just play them first, i couldn't go back to ac2 now after i've gotten used to unity

they feel so old and clunky and i don't mean graphically

Desmond's face gets changed a little in every game because the devs didn't want to keep paying the original face model. He goes from a half arab/half white guy in the first game to some kind of neanderthal in AC3.

Torquemada was a puppet controlled by the Templars afaik (in the DS game), but they could change that.

The film is set in Spain both in the present day and in the past: in present day, it's Madrid, while in the past it's in the southern part of Spain (the big city with the high church being Seville).

Actually, as a huge fan of the Assassin's Creed series. The Animus in this trailer does make sense.

They never really established how you controlled your character with the animus, I think in the first one the doctor made some quip about pretending like it's a video game.

In any case, it doesn't translate well into a movie.

Also, the Animus was supposed to be a training tool as well, and as you played as your ancestor your modern-day main character was supposed to pick up his skills. Except in the video game it fails to explain how someone out of shape can suddenly do cartwheels and climb walls if his muscles simply don't have the strength. At least with this idea in the movie it shows the guy being active.

>then he goes on to lead everyone, with some backflashes about him leaving his love to make his way in the world to make him seem like a better person, despite him fucking whores left and right and only caring about money

He was a complete shit character next to Ezio, and even the Indian one had a more sensible and gripping progression in the world. Edward was mary sue-y as fuck.

And the sea battles were only fun because of novelty, except for the legendary enemies. They became tedious fast as fuck because of how easy, non-tactical and shallow they were. Just like the normal fighting.

Were you even controlling your past-body, though? Like, the player runs around because it's a game, but within the story Desmond followed Ezio's memories in a pretty straight line because you can only relive a memory?

They've been using the animus's to train soliders in the games for awhile now.

Pic related has a graffiti saying "Kamen". Henry Kamen has written about how inaccurate and exaggerated the usual portrayal of the Spanish Inquisition is.

So MAYBE there's a chance they won't portray the Black Legend's version of it and stick to the actual facts. They did a good job in the first AC, hopefully this is shown here too.

I figured that was our version of his mind straying. When the player's mind strays, we run off and kill civilians or stop focusing on the mission and fail it. What Desmond is doing is having his mind stray and not focusing on the memories and instead thinking of banging some chick or something, or trying to "remember" shit out-of-sequence, like when you try to access an area too early.

The manuals describe you controlling your ancestor with inputs to the arms and legs. They also make your synchronization with what happened as your health bar. If you got hurt, you lost synchronization because that never happened and you are deviating from the true events of the memory. The animus compensates for deviations up to a certain point before you get kicked from the memory.

So the person reliving the memory has to actually fight people that attack him if that's what happened and the memory is to be continued.

Their version of time travel sounds retarded.
>>
>>69421020

No, in the in-game universe you didn't just watch your ancestors life passively. Desmond had to actively control his ancestors.

That's where the idea of synchronization came from. If Desmond controlled his assassin poorly he would become desynchronized with how it happened historically and the player would lose "health" (aka the memory would become unstable)

Or they go the other way. Since the Templars are in control in the future they might have made the Spanish Inquisition sound tamer than it was, like more nuanced research of them are doing right now. So in their world everyone thinks they were like they really were in our world. Then we see the characters reacting to how the Spanish Inquisition was ACTUALLY like the stereotype we have of them, and the Templars just suppressed that history.
