Does anyone else get the feeling that Ramsay's gift is going to be a trick of some kind or be involved in the Manderly play?
I know what the spoilers said and how accurate they've been, but I feel like it would make more sense for it to be some kind of Umber trick (to get his bannermen inside Winterfell, or at the very least get close to Ramsay) or for Manderly to be there and do the north remembers dialogue with Rickon instead of Davos.
Manderly's shenanigans before and in Winterfell are a really worthwhile part of the books to keep in the series, I can't understand why they wouldn't be included (at least partly) because they're also incredibly satisfying for the reader/watcher who wants to see dead Freys and tension build up in Winterfell.
I really don't think Rickon is going to be killed next episode (or maybe at all), and I think if he is or Ramsay does this battle with Jon that everyone seems to expect and dies that way then the entire Manderly plot is completely wasted and cut.
I also don't see how Jon can gather an army large enough to besiege or even fight for Winterfell, unless the amount of willing wildlings suddenly rockets up for no reason whatsoever.

I think Easton makes a good case in the first video that you can fight with two high medieval swords but you would have to be very good and have trained specifically with them i.e. not outside the abilities of Dayne.

But on a rewatch, now you just want to watch the quality scene. And there wasn't much in that episode.
Once you know what happen, about 15 minutes or so of the episode is still worth watching because it's well written and well done. The rest is all terrible.

First, this is low fantasy, not really life. There are dragons in these books and shows, so belief must be suspended somewhat.
Second, Dayne was canonically one of, if not the best swordsmen that ever lived. We can assume that he would be reasonably skilled with his off hand. Possibly better with his non dominant hand than most with their dominant hands.

The only way you have a chance, as small as it is, to win a 2v5, is to retreat constantly while killing people with every blow.
You can't just stand in the middle parrying every hit (like he did on the show).
And with that retreat&striking thing... A single sword works better. Two swords will just constantly keep you off balance, and you're doing precision strikes not hammering away like a berzerker.
If you look at any swordfighter, they all fight sideway with the sword way ahead of them ( kinda like Syrio Forel stance ), because that's the way to get the longest reach with your weapon. If you fight from the front ( with 2 weapons ) your reach is shorter, and your blows are clumsier. Even if you're the best in the world, your blows are clumsier than they would be if you were only fighting with 1 sword in the proper stance. Plus, if by swinging wildly with 2 swords you still manage to get killing blows, then you'd do well enough with 1 sword + retreating that you'd get rid of most of the group very fast, becuase they obviously can't parry for shit.

To return the question to you in a way that makes it really obvious why 1 sword is better than 2 sword, I think...
