richard is turning from a whiny cunt to an insufferable, childish, whiny cunt.

He's smart enough to know that people want his TECHNOLOGY, not his business management skills, so he should let the fat guy make him rich so that maybe in the future he can fully realize the dreams for his platform.

instead of spending years creating something that nobody even has any practical uses for yet and then hoping you get payed at the end,

>>69273320
The Carla character was added during the show runners being bullied into having more female presence. A lot of people called them on this also it didn't pay off because there was no influx in female viewers.

This show is really funny. That joke Jared makes at the end was so ridiculous and well timed I spit my drink all over my screen.

>>

>>

Just based on the type of character he is. He thought he's on such good terms with the guys that the dirtier his jokes are the more they'd laugh. He didn't realize that more thought goes into jokes
>>
jack is scary.

i got let go from my last job a few months ago and i was feeling anxiety just watching his scenes with richard
>>
>>69273476
Well that's disheartening. I felt like she contributed to the assholery atmosphere of the show. She wasn't a push over like Monica and she also wasn't clearly a sociopathic like Laurie she was just a plain old asshole. If the only reason they brought her in was because "Diversity" then yea I can see how people could be pissed off but imo she contributed her fair share.
>>
I was actually hoping we'd get some kind of work done on the side project beforehand though. I fully expected them to get caught at some point, but not before they even begin
>>
Richard's reason for bringing the skunkwork papers was retarded. The fact the papers were labeled as skunk work was retarded. The fact one of the sales people who were illiterate about the inner workings of the platform identified it in one glance was bullshit.
To give your protagonist something to fight against is fine but to have them always under someone's heel is not very entertaining.
>>
>>69273586
Jared is funny too. Adding someone in to the Gilfoyle/Dinesh banter and bullying isn't that hard. She was dropped into the bit just like Jared was this episode. Only difference is the runner added her because SJWs wanted a vagina in the incubator house scenes.
>>
>>69273697
There were definitely better ways for the project to leak. The trip over and spill the paper thing is way too cliche to begin with, let alone all the other reasons you mentioned.

Also there is the ownership thing of it being his baby and that he doesn't want to see his baby be turned over to pedophiles who will rape the baby and then kill it when they are done.

Skunkworks is a term (albeit not as well known) to imply secretive work. Given the flow chart of it it might have implied not doing the work tasted and passing off a charade for the sales, which is why one of the sales dudes immediately ran to rat out instead of stand there confused and oblivious.

>>
>>69279010
>If they suceeeded the show would be over in Season 1 asshole

There could be some middle ground between them succeeding and completely fucking themselves over at the end of each episode. This ending was funny but they've destroyed a potentially good storyline right after it was introduced and set up for half the episode.
>>
oh fug this show is back

making me be glad i didn't fall for the cs meme one episode at a time
>>
>>69279178

This

The show could be "oh look the guys are successful now but they don't know how to handle it and they will make big mistakes".

Them constantly fucking up and/or getting fucked over, plus never getting to where they have wanted to be since the first season is getting a bit old now
>>
Only Big Head can save them.

>>69279010

>I cant wait for Season 4 but hopefully it ends there.

It's like watching Freaks and Geeks all over again. A bunch of nerds who never win at anything. I love both shows though. SV has had more wins than F&G though. Of course SV has had two more seasons.
>>
I got mildly annoyed in season 2 when they got stuck in a rut of having every episode be.

1) Fix huge problem that arouse in the last 5minutes of the previous episode.
2) Create new huge new problem in the last 5 minutes of the episode.

But at a certain point you just gotta say fuck it and try to enjoy watching Richard fuck everything up because you know it will just be fixed in the first half of the next episode.

The show is more concerned with creating humor through failure than drama.

And I like Kumail and his ill informed shitty tweets. Half the time I'm not even sure if he's talking about the far left or far right.

I miss him bullying people on podcasts.
>>
You god damn idiots. Were any of you paying attention? Richard didn't fuck up. It's all part of the Haversack ruse. The plans he dropped are fake plans.
>>
>>69279961
>You god damn idiots. Were any of you paying attention? Richard didn't fuck up. It's all part of the Haversack ruse. The plans he dropped are fake plans.

That would make sense because tripping and spilling the contents of your secret plan you brought to the worst place you could bring it to because you didnt have a shredder is stupid as fuck.

Then again, remember last season when they lost everything because someone put a bottle of boose on a delete key?
>>
>>69279961
Because he wants the CEO to be onto them, the real plan is to fool his associates and the audience!
>>
that joke made my night
>>
>>69280137

It was never part of the plan to have the CEO find out about it, Richard is just a moron.

she pretty much promises to join the guys in the new season for under the table work, then bails on all that and extorts them for 20k to not snitch on them

Why didn't they just go to an actual server host site? not like it wouldn't have been hard to come by

Cost+liability

Green screen = cheaper, no risk

>didn't richard fuck up on purpose?

Hope so. He may fuck up a lot but he's not that stupid.
>>
>>69270231
Wait....season 3 has started?!
FUCK
>>
I love this show to bits, but I'm really getting tired of the whole "One step forward, two steps back" routine that happens almost every episode/season.

On repeat viewings, the episode ending twists get really irritating.
>>
>>69284775
>Why didn't they just go to an actual server host site?

you could tell there was actually maybe 2 legit rows of servers they used at a datacenter for shooting the ep (or just dressed up a set with a few rows) the whole raiders of the lost ark warehouse at the end style shots of endless rows and rows of servers was cgi.
>>
>>69284146

Initially they were going to steal the server hardware that they were using inside Erlich's garage in season 2 but rather than do that, Gilfoyle suggested setting up the hardware within the office by routing power from the other tenants in the building.
>>
Wait, Silicon Valley is back? How has this season been? Any good?
>>
>>69285069
>>69285365

That isn't really a skilled way of bumping the thread friend and really obvious.
>>
i love how the datacenter guy's id badge photo was from the 80s and the whole portrayal of the engineers as mole men, this show really nails it sometimes.

Oh, in that case why are you complaining? You had a well paying job, in all likelihood you're going to get another one. No one wants to hear about that.

guys, you really don't know Meinertzhagen's Haversack?

well let me tell you something, the guy who invented the ruse was named Richard, and it involved giving fake plans to the enemy and having them think its legit.

fooled you good.
>>
>>69283930
man, you really can't argue with that, thats essentially confirmation it was part of the plan.
>>
>>69281611
I've been interviewing in SF. It's a fucking bitch. People can be massive assholes if they sense any sign of weakness from you. I just want a job, dog.
>>
>>69288103
Oh yeah, one time I was asked to come do a final onsite with a startup in SF. But because I lived in Seattle and the job wasn't an engineering/software developing job, but an entry level position, I had to buy my own ticket down. So I did. I was confident because the recruiter said they were impressed and said I was one of their top candidates.

So I fly down the night before. I was having dinner with a friend in SFwhen I get a call from the recruiter. The recruiter told me they already filled the position lolgoodlucktho.

tl;dr startups can be massive dicks and SV depicts it pretty well

>that 20 million dollars hes got is obviously gonna be a plot point, hes not gone yet.

I'm fairly certain from the HBO preview that bighead has started his own incubator, one that's better/worse than Erlichs.

This may be old news, But does anyone know why they got rid of Peter Gregory? Was it an actual plot point? Or did something happen to the actor playing him?

>>

like the poster above you said, filming in an actual datacenter for those scenes would be futile because of the noise. imagine trying to shoot a show in a space full of 10,000 hair dryers all going full blast at the same time.

I wanted to like this show. I fucking work in the industry they work in.

The setting is cool, the characters are solid, and the cinematography is as you can expect from a fucking sitcom.

But the show had one problem: it was never funny. I tried the first 5 episodes, and I never laughed.

I didn't even curve my fucking lips for a smile.

It was just boring.

Probably Palo Alto Pizza Co. for me. I live here and can't understand where that money to advertise on an HBO comes from. Aren't resturant margins super thin?

Erlich>Jared>Gilfoyle>Richard>Dinesh

Erlich is the best character m8, closely followed by Jared who is almost impossible to not like.
>>
Fucking hell, even though it's been hours since i watched that episode, just remembering Jared's line at the end sends me into laughing fit
>>
>>69283930
What if the pads are for the actor since he was going to take a fall and not for the character in the story?
>>
>>69296900
It's a tv show...the crew has complete control over what the camera does or doesn't see.

They could have had Middleditch walk into the office sans knee pads and put them only just before shooting the fall. Or they could have just shot their office entrance entirely from the waist up.

i didn't even know this show was back desu
