Do people actually pretend those Marc Webb Spider-Man movies are good?
Sam Raimi's ability to create action scenes with very little CG cannot be discounted, when in any Amazing Spider-Man action scene, Garfield turns into a cartoon every fucking time, compared to Raimi who let's you see the actors actually on screen doing their thing.
And say what you will about Tobey, but he has a commanding presence as a hero. Look at this almost Superman style entrance Tobey has before he goes and fights the Green Goblin for the first time. I believe Tobey would go and fuck shit up, as compared to that wussgiraffe's lip biting mincing.
It's not about CGI vs not CGI, it comes down to good directing.
