R+L=J is all but confirmed at this point, and it's kinda sad honestly. The show hasn't developed any other characters that could replace Lyanna's child other than Jon. They have also not developed the issue of his parentage at all such that any other revelation will have absolutely no impact other than R+L.

The thing is, while he is intelligent, he has had a massive amount of luck on his side. Things just worked out fucking perfectly for him. Stannis getting BTFO at the blackwater, Cersei being a stupid dumb bitch, Tywin getting offed, RW, Theon seizing winterfell, etc. I mean I guess you could say that all of those events are rooted in Jon Arryn's death which he orchestrated, but even LF couldn't have predicted everything that would happen.

There are some decently animated shows in Japan in that have long runs and come out weekly with small one-two month breaks between 30-40 episodes. Game of Thrones isn't even high action either, they wouldn't need to animate fighting constantly or lots of shit in motion. 80 percent of asoiaf is talking or moving through set pieces. It's a little silly especially that the whole NW wears full leather outfits. Unless Westeros has a method of increasing tensile strength by quite a lot, they wayyyy overuse leather as armour.
Leather was inferior to things like wood, for example. When training in the nights watch Jon even wears some perfectly fine wooden protection plates. Not sure why he doesn't wear those in battle given that they seem not to hinder his movement at all.
