All of the time and money spent on this battle scene and all it really boiled down to was Jar Jar stumbling about killing droids with clumsiness while Anakin pushes buttons at random and takes out a control ship. This is my biggest problem with the prequels and early cgi movies in general. Characters luck their way through dozens of near death experiences in a 2hr movie because directors mistake falling over and dodging cgi laserbolts/monster bites/falling boulders repeatedly for tense action. The dino-stampede in King Kong and any action scene from pirates of the Caribbean spring to mind.

Star wars episode 3 had a budget of over 100 million dollars. I'm guessing he used it all on cgi, when he could have used it on practical sets instead.

Bumping into jar jar wouldve been fine if he wasnt so pivotal to the entire story from then out. Seriously, if they didnt happen to bump into him at that moment they wouldve been stranded, the gungans wouldnt have been there to fight off the droids and the princess wouldve been escorted to that camp because they wouldnt have got there in time.
