Yes it is. Unfortunately the world is full of Tumblrinas who insist that Plato is supposed to be gay and in love with James Dean. That ruined the movie the first time I saw it, because it's not supposed to be like that. Platobeing emotionally unstable, sees James Dean's character as a father figure due to not having his dad in his life.SJWs are willing to cheapen the story just to shove in gay romance.
