Considering the school is full of outrageously hormonal teenagers, how often do you think stuff like this happens?
>>69174336
just as easy as it would be to go postal, just mumble some words and your wand turns into a railgun
but that's what huffelpuff is for, to put all the potential killers under one roof and keep a close eye on them
>>69174336
Would your cum not reverse from the persons you were polyjuiced as back to your own when the spell ended?
>>69174336
Doesnt petrificus totalus freeze the flesh, so you wouldnt be able to open up her puss or boothole, it would be like fucking a steel wall.
>>69174711
this begs the question: if i chop off my dick while being polyjuiced, and the polyjuice effect wears off, will my seperated dick change back on it's own or will it be a lost dick forever?
>>69174958
nah, it's just a paralyzing spell in the books
>>69174958
Fuck. Why in the fuck I lost to this?
>>69174336
Be sure the school tracks every spell and its origins,so it wouldn't be a secret for long.
>>69176209
How would they do this?
>>69176228
Magic. Ain't gotta explain shit.
>>69175090
Lost what?
>>69176228
Not him but ministry of magic has a department that only function is to track combat spells and spells cast by underages. In movie two when Harry use magic at his uncle house they send him a letter with a warning. Later it's told that they keep a log with all heavyweight magic cast like avada kedavra and such.
>>69176228

I think I'd rather focus on the Imperius curse and memory charms
I'd do em all and no one would know
>>69176602
>Imperius curse
Yeah, right.
1. Requires a level of mastery above that of any student.
2. See >>69176307. The ministry would be all over your ass for casting unforgivable spells.
You are better off using potions, like in the 6th movie

[THIS POST HAS BEEN REMOVED BY THE FBI, AND THE USER HAS BEEN PROSECUTED]
Do polyjuice potions change your genitals? Could you and a friend take turns drinking one and then fuck eachother? I-it's not gay
>>69178054
Yeah, that would probably work. Man, what a bonding experience.
Pretty sure there is an anti-sex charm in place in Hogwarts. To stop any of that shit even consensual
>>69176321
That's scary. Imagine if a government would do that in real life
>>69176756
Learning higher magic doesn't seem that hard. You just need to get access to the right books.
In the 5th book they managed to teach a bunch of 5th and 4th graders combat magic that made them able to fight most death-eaters within a few months.
>>69178054
Hold on a second.
Does it change your internal organs?
Could you, as a man, become a woman via the potion, get pregnant and drink polyjuice for 9 months and give birth?
Would the child grow up to look like the person that the potion is making you look like?
These are the real questions Rowling needs to answer.
>>69178414
HOLD ON A SECOND
WHAT IF YOU DID THE FIRST FEW STEPS AND THEN STOPPED DRINKING THE POTION AFTER, SAY, 8 MONTHS?
Since the baby isn't actually YOU, would you turn back into a man with a nearly fully grown baby inside of you?
>>69174336
Tweet about that to Rowling and she'll make it canon. She's doing that kind of shit with any suggestion 24/7 the dumb whore bitch.
>>69178454
holycrap you people are overthinking.
>>69178454
BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!
What if you turned into a woman, got someone to stick their dick inside of you and then petrified them so that they maintained the erection, and then waited until the potion wore off?
Would the person end up attached to you permanently?
>>69174336
The fact that you find wizard on witch rape a joking matter is more evidence that we have a problem. 1-in-5 girls will be raped at Hogwarts.
>>69178414
So you're saying
>Get hair of waifu
>Masturbate to it furiously
>Cum
>Store your cum
>Use hair to make 2 potions of waifu
>Drink potion
>Deposit your own cum into your now vagina with a turkey baster
>Get yourself pregnant
>Drink 2nd potion so you can get Vagina back
>Give birth
>Take DNA test of baby and waifu
>Force her to marry you
If she refuses you can always go to the Ministy of Magic and Childsupport, as long as they're not situated in California you're good.
Could this work?
Thread screencapped and e-mailed to Rowling. Will report back with answers.
>>69176756
That's just to keep track of what kids do outside of school
Harry casts unforgivable curses and gets away with it scott free

To make polyjuice potion you need ingredients, and the source of ingredients in Hogwarts is Severus Snape. And he don't have many.
>>69179049
you really only need one batch, then you can polyjuice it into Snape and just go crazy on any ingredients and supplies you could possibly need
>>69179139
Dumbledore's beard is pretty long. I bet if you tailed him long enough you could find one of those hairs that had dropped off. Become the headmaster just long enough to molest some students and get his ass fired.

>frame other professors

>>69178516

>>69179385
Ron was too beta to do anything that interesting, to be fair. I can't see how a marriage between him and Hermione was ever going to work out.
>>69179439
Also,
>obliviate: used to hide a memory of a particular event
Isn't this like the ultimate spell of a rapist? If Hermione can erase herself from her parents memories entirely then surely anything is possible with this spell.

>>69179553
Yeah, that's really useful. The thing is you wouldn't want them fighting back during, it would be a pain in the ass. I guess you could just snoop and find out who's your crush's crush, then polyjuice into them and seduce them. A lot of work, though.

>>69174336

Extremely difficult, takes a month, illegal, contains banned ingredients
>>69179794
Nope, it's Harry. Though I'm not sure what exact spell you refer to. Harry used the Imperius a bunch of times at Gringotts, but didn't use Unforgivables while breaking into the Ministry (unless you refer to the incident at the end of OotP).

>>69179704
Statism is pretty real in HP. You tell it's quintessentialy British when there is a nightmarish organization that regulates the use of magic to such a degree.

A) The point is that they are very hard to do; There's a whole spiel about how you can't cast them without meaning to, and they're tricky spells anyways.
B) The combat magic is a general shield charm and stunning. If the Death Eaters pulled out all the stops, like that huge firesnake thing Crabbe did in book 7, the kids would be destroyed.

Be hard to get the strength right; we know people tend to revert unless given enough of a blast to turn them into a retard, and the memories are still there (Slughorn still had his memories of baby Voldemort, even though he wiped himself and replaced them with new memories).

the extreme britishness of the films acknowdlge the orwellian and brazilian minsityry. they are supposed to be right out. the humour is done in a tongue and cheek manner but yes they are supposed to he seem as batshit. regulating the most powerful magical object to a schoolgirl who can take more classes is very self deprecating, ie yes british people are this crazy
>>69180952
The ministry of magic was meant to be kind of fucked. Aurors were given permission to summarily execute suspected death eaters during the first war against voldy.
During the events of the books, Fudge buries his head in the sand about voldy, Scrimgouer is incompetent and the system was so fucked Voldemort was able to take it over so easily most people didnt even notice
>>69181049
but wheres the fun in that? of i was a wizard, which im not. id surely go full wizard.
>>69181005
But they can steal your soul, which is irreparable. It should be the magic equivalent of cruel and unusual punishment.
I also imagine the ministry mostly being for British magicians based on the apparent cultural and social divide between the different national schools in the triwizard. Imagine if the ministry actually was some super-EU for wizards where the british wizards got to indefinitely detain and torture french and Russian wizards who are entitled to virtually no due process of law.
Azkaban is made to seem like a fucked up and terrible place where good people (i.e. Sirius) are subjected to unjust treatment, yet Rowling doesn't portray any sort of wholesale rejection of the place by the good guys, as if there are two standards of justice for those who the reader should view as 'good' and 'evil'.

why are there just 3 that are just considered evil when they clearly show that you can achieve the same effects (death, pain...) with other spells.

>>69180933
It's not a one-time thing. The 4th book has a story about some bimbo secretary being mind controlled through that curse, and she fought it to the point where they couldn't let her out of the house. Stronger minds fight it better, and can hide that they are being controlled (like young Crouch), and trying to do it on most people would get your pasty mediocre-talented ass handed to you.
The whole point of Voldemort was that he convinced some people, coerced others through regular blackmail, and sometimes used the Imperius Curse, so no one knew which way was up or who to trust.
>>69181107
>not using a gun and a wand
>>69181107
wizards would get btfo against modern human armies. their only chance would be guerrilla warfare, but even then every engagement woudl be a massacre. Guns + bullets >>>>>>> avarda kedavra
>>69180877
You do realize that the hat is literally reading your mind, right?
>>69181080
But if the ministry as an institution is so exploitable you would think Harry and co would exemplify some kind of reformist attitude. All of Harry's friends berate him for keeping the ministry bitch's torture quill a secret, as if they believe mistreatment by the authorities would be scandalous in the HP universe. The opposite seems to be true.
I imagine it has something to do with the general cognitive dissonance inherent to an English concept of 'justice', but it was distracting and sometimes seemed to be intentionally frustrating. The hand-cutting quill situation in particular was written in a way that seemed to knowingly frustrate what Rowling would assume is the average reader's sense of fairness.
>>69181131
>But they can steal your soul, which is irreparable. It should be the magic equivalent of cruel and unusual punishment.
It is cruel and unusual; they mention other prisons like the place Dumbledore's buttbuddy was kept. Azkaban is some serious shit. Also, they don't eat your soul all the time. Most of the time, they just sap your willpower from the other side of the bars, which is frankly a hell of a lot better at containing magic murderers than anything we can do to stop the riots, rapes, and murders in our prisons.

>>69181238
Bro there are drugs that can and are used on prisoners to sap them of their willpower, but their use is rightfully controversial. I won't say that we are entirely righteous in regard to employing some of the real-world analogs of azkaban but the only place that institutionally applies those kind of techniques is a military prison maintained on foreign soil that is constantly being challenged both in the courts and the congress. There doesn't even seem to be any coherent objection to Azkaban as a place or an institution anywhere in the entire series.

control space
make muggles not notice them
make them forget
transform them
and so on
face it. Even with our current tech. we have no chance to even detect our enemy
on the other hand: most wizard have no idea about muggle tech. So we could suprise them aswell
>>69181328
It is controversial in that people like Dumbledore are horrified by it; he talks about how it's evil, and that having it only leads to more evil.
They just focused on fighting Wizard Hitler and not prison reform, though given that all the Dementors abandoned the prison to join Moldy Voldy I doubt Azkaban was reopened in a hell of a hurry. Here's the quote from Pottermore:
>"Under Kingsley Shacklebolt, Azkaban was purged of Dementors. While it remains in use as a prison, the guards are now Aurors, who are regularly rotated from the mainland. There has been no breakout since this new system was introduced."
>>69174336
The real scary thing are love potions. They seem easy to make and are perfectly legal.
They're the ultimate date rape drug, Harry Potter was almost a victim. Hell, Voldemort is the product of a witch raping a muggle.
>>69181216
>>69181393
this is how easy it would be.
wizards release a bevy of magicial creatures on london to create havok. simultaneously infiltrate the humans governement through impersonation or control, until they control the highest form in the gov. institute martial law, controll the army, out humans in concentration camps for their safety and literally rule the world. it would be that simple. 2-3 days. half bloods and muggles would be an actual strength for the wizards they would easily fudk humans shit up
>>69181553
coming up with creative magic methods to btfo muggles would be quite interesting, and would probably escalate quickly to genocide-tier acts daily. bring it on race war now
>>69181576
Hmm I don't remember Dumbledore's opposition to Azkaban. I read only the first six books. I can imagine she slipped some shit in the last one to make everything alright, but I really don't recall any explanation of the general acceptance of Azkaban under peace-time conditions or a specific criticism of it in the first six. Would you happen to know where to look for that?

>>69181604
it we knew we were in a war, why would we allow our governments to all of a sudden start acting so bizzarely, presumably all around the same time? yeah i get your point but trying to mind control leaders would fail if they attempted such overt fuckery, they'd have to be subtle and do it over time.
wizards would be more likely to mind control then just make peace, but i prefer the total war of survival for both sides scenario

Are you joking? There's like 500-1000 wizards in all of Britain, going off the class size of 40 at the only school in the country. And if you can get even half of them to support you taking over the world, and if even half of them have the magical skill and mental fortitude to be soldiers, you're doing well.

the school wasnt small. o think there's way more than 500-1000, but all it would take is apparate into the prime minsiters quarters at night and you can take out all the guards nearby when a couple of men and completely control the minsiter.
500-1000 isnt a big enough population to sustain, certainly the ministy has hundreds of workers and not everyone worked for the minsitry

Rowling said wizarding Britain has around 3000 wizards, thought she's terrible with numbers.
>>69174336
Really, with magic there isn't a single reason to ever actually work a day in your life.
You can teleport anywhere and steal all the shit you want from muggles, and do whatever you want.
If you want to buy magical artifacts, just exchange your stolen muggle money for Galleons at Gringotts.

Yeah there are selective comments about the dementors specifically, but my issue is with a lack of general outrage towards the prison itself. It doesn't jive with a functional democratic society that has institutional support for personal liberties.
I'm not trying to draw blood from a stone though, I appreciate your recollections. I just found the absence of commentary on blatantly abusive shit like that irritatingly inconsistent. I imagine its more sensible culturally for the average British reader than it is for me.
>>69182025
>am i missing too much?
No
>>69181853
It's genetic.
If I was a muggle that knew about wizards, I'd research the shit out of genetics to find out how to guarantee my offspring will have magic.
Then in a couple of generations everyone would be wizards.
>>69181875
>>69181895
The numbers come from
>5 guys in Harry's grade and house and 5 girls
>10 kids per house per grade, 4 houses, 7 grades
280 kids (which roughly matches the size shown in dining scenes) at Hogwarts at any one time. We don't know how big wizard families are, but it seems to be about average for the most part (1-3 kids, with the Weasleys as an outlier). Therefore, the number of adult wizards is probably 1000 or less, accounting for those who never had kids. Rowling's number is garbage, but even if you accept that it's a damn tiny army you can get out of it, and has been pointed out mind control is not perfect.
Could you secretly control the British government? Maybe. Could you openly take over and herd millions of people into concentration camps without getting your robed asses ripped open? Not a chance.
>>69181912
Goblins hate Wizards, as do most of the sentient magical beings, because wizards are huge cockbites. The House-Elves might help, but they're not a violent sort, and given that the largest concentration is the kitchen staff at Hogwarts they're not numerous either.

Until you get arrested for breaking the masquerade. The Ministry's whole purpose is to stop people doing shit that exposes the wizarding world to Muggles, they're going to notice the guy trying to exchange tens of thousands of pounds of stuff for magic money, and the wizards keep a close eye on unusual occurences (Mr. Weasley's whole job is hushing that up, and Snape has all the papers describing the flying car in CoS before the wheels even touch down at Hogwarts a few hours after taking off).

The Ministry isn't going to say, "Anon's some kind of master criminal, let's let him continue forever, he's never going to make a mistake and expose our centuries-long charade," they're going to read about a locked door case, investigate, find magic evidence by tracking your Apparations or something (or just figuring out that suddenly you're flush with cash for no apparent reason), and fuck you up. Even that number has always seemed downgraded from what it should actually be.
Diagon Alley, and all the streets attached to it, are implied to procure the wizarding world in Britain all their needs, and could only remain in business with a consumer number as tens of thousands.
Not to mention that, with a wizarding community of only some thounsand people, in time everyone would know each other in that community and the inbreeding would be unimaginable.
Finally, we've had explicited to us that the wizarding world is always expanding due to mudbloods, that far outweigh the percentage of squibs, so the wizardinf community couldn't have stayed at just 10,000 people.
Like it or not, it makes much more sense if Britain actually holds 100,000 wizards.

I don't think it does. Given the fantastical nature of the material, a more colorful, high-contrast approach (Delbonnel kinda went this direction, I feel. At least 6 seems like a compromise) seems appropriate. It also functions as a means of juxtaposition, in a world so full of wonder there's still sorrow, loss and despair, that kind of thing.

If I was in the harry potter universe, i'd make my own business, since you know the only job prospects are

Hell, I could probably replicate popular hairs like luna and hermione and charge whatever the fuck i'd like.
This is assuming you know, wizards wouldnt just use their magic love potions, or use a literal date rape spell that erases peoples memory.
What about the villages where wizards live around muggles? Does every wizarding village have the town rapist? Like oh yeah, thats Gregg. He steals off to london and rapes the shit out of any muggle he feels like and then just erases their memory.

>>69184579
The problems with this were pointed out the last time you said this in an HP thread, anon. Polyjuice doesn't work on non-humansinb4 Winky, she had to play a grieving woman in a shawl and Crouch wouldn't care one whit if it permanently mutated her.
Does make me wonder if you rewrote this from scratch, or this is the worst pasta, though.
>>69184522
I couldnt disagree more. its called the deathly hallows and the films should reflect harry, he isnt so happy and magical during the last ones. film is supposed to be different its a different medium. its underrated.
deathly hallows part 1 is like a tone poem, the pace was perfect for soaking in the atmosphere and the character moments had a lot of room to breathe
and despite how somber and slow it was, it punctuated these sequences with fun, tense, thrilling and even frightening segments. the ministry infiltration scene was one of the most entertaining parts of the whole series, and finding the decaying body of dumbledore's friend in godric's hollow was a real legit "oh fuck" moment that i wasn't expecting to see in a potter film.
it's just a really good film, one that captures the desolation of being alone and on the run in a world where even amazing magical powers can only provide a brief respite from a shit society. it's a movie about the real emotional tests of friendship without ever devolving into the usual YA shipping\emo schlock. the scene where harry and hermione silently contemplate ron's absence and then dance to the nick cave song is a great character moment that 99% of films for that audience, from franchise trash like divergent to john greenshit, would never come up with yet DH1 has in spades.
I just saw someone post this before "Deathly Hollows part 1 is a cinematic masterpiece. I give it to all my students to watch when we're going over atmosphere (I'm a film teacher)"

B-But Harry had twice the magical gainz Ron did!

>ignored all the good looking girls
He went after the two that were considered the best looking girls in Hogwarts, Cho was fucking the most alpha Chad in the school so she must have been hot, and Ginny was repeatedly said to be ridiculously hot by everyone in the sixth book because Rowling couldn't think of another way to make her interesting or worthy of Harry.

Why would you even need to resort to rape?

I cant believe someone could have this shit taste. witchcraft offers DARKNESS. sirius, dumbledore and everyone under the sun dying allows the material to be shown that way and it was the best way to do it

>geez, things aren't so good, ey
Is that a bad thing? I mean, these movies' target audience are children after all. And keeping things simple isn't necessarily bad you know.
Take for example any Disney movie. The colors are very "childish" and are meant to appeal to youngsters. That doesn't mean that their cinematography and choice of colors is bad, on the contrary actually.
>>69183641
this makes sense, but where the hell are their children educated?
perhaps homeschooling is the default manner for them
>>69184746
it was also bullshit that harry went from "cute little ginny" to "omg i want to fuck her so bad" in like no fucking time.
It was a complete asspull because at that point JK decided on who will bang who in the upcoming books.
>>69184602
I mean in the films, they were always bickering but we knew they liked eachother.
>>69184853
Or a love potion
>>69184671
I would sort of agree with you if this was anything but Harry Potter. What Yates seems to be going for with the last two films in particular is to conjure up psychological drama which simply isn't present in the source material. My gripe with his visual choices is in a way an extension of this major bug-bear. He's abandoning the bubbly, charming and fantastical in a way the books never did in order to put his focus squarely on what I think causes the series to fall apart.
>tone poem
Feel free to explain this seemingly meaningless buzzword to me. I've seen it used mostly by vulgar ateurists to describe Snyder, Anderson, and digital-era Mann, which makes your use of it here all the more confusing.
>"Deathly Hollows part 1 is a cinematic masterpiece. I give it to all my students to watch when we're going over atmosphere (I'm a film teacher)"
Not to be that guy, but good god...
>>69184915
love potions is the reason why voldemort exists, a child born from someone affected by a love potion will never experience any positive feelings like love

Chamber of Secrets Hermione best Hermione.
>>69184988
He means that the movie is boring and nothing happens except for a couple scenes and he thinks it's LE KINO MEME XD so it's a "tone poem".
a lot of people itt forgetting that polyjuice potion is high level magic and takes months to make
>>69184627

did you even watch the movies because the previous 3 movies "things arent so good" they gradually get worse and dh1 is the climax of morbidness until harry accepts death

what do you think film is for dolphins? its supposed to connect to the audience. the audience is supposed to feel something or the movie fails.
>isnt present in the source material
irrelevant since thats the entire purpose of film, to be original, stop complaining about the books beint different films have different necessities
tone poem means tones are mished and mashed in a proper way see the dancing scene or godricsmhollow

>>69185176
it is supposed to. the entire point is bridging the gap in harrys wizarding and human life. the entire point of the series is to put you in a fantastical situation yet things are very similar like the minsity being an oppressive government
harry is a powerful wizard but that doesnt connect to the audience. his human emotions do. emotions are the entire point of filmmakimg
>>69185102
>its supposed to connect to the audience. the audience is supposed to feel something or the movie fails.
We may have stumbled upon the core of our disagreement. I don't think this.
>>69185144
it would be fucked up that your harry potter, the bigest hero of hte magic world, you could have been anyone, bang every witch out there.
But one day your 50, married to a fat red head with a shitload of children and shit job as a magic cop, and the potion finaly doesnt work anymore.
The rage of waking up next to a fat redhead who rapped you with magic must be huge.
>>69185102
What I meant by "not present in the source material" was that Yates is grasping at straws trying to force it into something it blatantly isn't by focusing on the weaker parts of the books.
>>69185284
This isn't what I'm talking about.
>>69185328

if the scene of harry trying to cheer up hermione for one minute because shes depressed and has cared for him as much as he cares for her, yet they have so much still to do and this cheering up is essential useless, doesnt get to you idk what will
>>69185284
>emotions are the entire point of filmmakimg
This is certainly arguable. Furthermore, I don't think a film is "supposed" to do or be anything.
What I meant here: >>69185289 was that we disagree on the fundamental point of wether or not something is to be asked of the audience. You think it's the responsibility of the film to engage the audience, while I think a large part of that responsibility lies with the audience.
>>69185363
films are supposed to be different, not only can a film not be exactly like s book it has no obligation to thats why you hire people to make a movie, i respect and prefer the adaptations they have more weight. yates is a great director and the characters in his were able to shine
>>69184853
This is what happens when you write an ending first. You get a ways along in a story then you have to force it to go where you wanted. She should've left the final chapters unwritten until she got there, the last books would have sucked a lot less
>>69183378
>>69183500
Agreed. Harry Potter threads are usually the most thought provoking, comfy and humorous threads on /tv/ because you just keep going down the rabbit hole of questioning magic and its potential in Rowland's universe in unique ways you wouldn't have thought of the possibility until another anon questions it. Good thread, but absolutely derailed by sperglord autists from Reddit.
>>69185482
Okay, let me put it this way:
The psychological drama in the books simply isn't good enough. It doesn't matter how good you are if you're working with sub-par material. Yates decided to go for it anyway, and it proved detrimental to the final product, in my opinion.
>>69185450
filmmaking is widely understood as conveying what it means to be human, however so you want to. the fact that yates seriously did that with harry potter is impressive.
i agree its on the audience to engage also though, i think the films are engaging as a viewer and not because of their director, he just puts it out there for it to be digested
>>69185215
Those legs are shit
I've seen better legs on ten year old boys

>The psychological drama in the books simply isn't good enough. It doesn't matter how good you are if you're working with sub-par material. Yates decided to go for it anyway, and it proved detrimental to the final product, in my opinion.
you keep citing the books and i will keep saying they have no importance or matter at all. it wasnt detrimental they were the perfect way to show the maturity of the actors and the film as a series. this is about the films not the books. i was extremely satisfied

Here's a question to prove your normie vs patrician taste.
Which Harry Potter movie was the most mentally stimulating?
Protip: That doesn't mean best.
>>69185696
Well, I wasn't. You still seem to be missing the point of why I keep bringing up the books. You can keep on saying that they have no importance, but that doesn't make it true. Yates is working with a pre-existing thing, and the outcome is always going to be heavily influenced by said pre-existing thing, however it is twisted.
