The building falls, he runs into the dust, cut to him falling down the well, cut back to the story, saves employee, saves kid, looks up at Supe and Zod crashing his satellite, cut to Martha, cut to the first part of the Knightmare where he comes out of the tunnel and looks out at the wasteland. Title card.
I don't think you can fix a lot of the stuff. With the footage provided, I'd say no more half measures. Make Superman the elusive white whale that is only shown as being intimidating and 2001 monolothy, and Batman an obsessive to the point of delusion sociopath that has "broken bad."

Basically every Christopher Nolan movie. The epilogue feels like they had a Nolan montage epilogue, took it apart, and then laid the pieces out awkwardly, back-to-back. You want the epilogue to build the entire time as one big swelling crescendo, not Batman visits Lex then Batman talks to WW at one funeral then batman is at the other funeral, etc. You need things to overlap, turn a lot of the dialogue into VO so we can see AND hear different things as it all builds to the stupid fucking levitating dirt. They were clearly *trying* to do the TDK/Inception/TDKR ending where everyone says some profound shit and we end on a powerful image that is supposed to be a summation of the movie, but it's just poorly paced and sloppy. I want to have the Knightmare be a recurring motif throughout the entire first act. Dole that out in small chunks while he's investigating the White Portuguese and everything. Most of his Daily Planet shit can go. They repeat the same "I wanna write about Batman" "no you write about sports" fucking scene like 4 times. You really only need to start explaining what Clark is up to when it comes to him stopping Batman on the convoy assault. Could even try cross-cutting the Clark investigates and argues about the Gotham Bat shit with the actual convoy attack, leading up to him appearing.

This movie has some of the worse pacing I have ever seen. Just following a basic 3 act structure would have done it wonders.
These changes wouldn't make things perfect, but at least it would resemble a movie. I'm sure the director's cut will be interesting, but you don't need 4 hours to tell a story.

I believe that was the original intent, but dipshit Snyder read the wiki about Chekov's Gun and thought it would be neat to have him have access to the ship the entire time. Notice how they use a scene with the other Senator where he says what he wants, and they cross cut it with him getting access. I honestly think it was supposed to be after the splosion, and nobody was telling Zack what to do so he made it retarded.
Make it 3 movies
1 Supe vs Lex, establishing the savior figure and his flaws
2 Solo batman film and WW introduction
3 the trio team up and future justice league set up

I don't really think there's anyone to root for anyway. Batman's kind of an image-obsessed sociopath and Superman's an image-obsessed narcissist. Batman talks about killing Superman to secure his own legacy and shit. There are hints of very self-centered motivations behind Batman's actions. I think if he seems like he's being driven mad with obsession, that kind of makes you want him to win more just so he stops being so fucking crazy.

Well it's vaguely implied that Perry has to have at some point figured out that Clark is Supes, given the fucking Chopper on the roof bullshit at the end. I've considered that maybe he was so opposed to Clark Kent taking on the Gotham Bat because he didn't want them beefing, but I doubt that was the intent.
