The control of the majority of the production of our film and television entertainment is in very few hands...

Is this problematic?
>>69129153
It homogenizes culture.
No. The free market will fix it.
>>69129153
I'm baffled that the WSJ is the most widely circulated paper in the USA.
>>69129205
Yes, but isn't viewpoints from a small segment of society being pushed onto the masses a bad thing? The opposite of diversity?
>>69129286
That's what I was saying?
>>69129318
I took it that you thought it was a positive thing. My bad.
>>69129337
Same sort of consolidation with publishing houses for books too. There are like four today where there used to be dozens. Oh well. What can you do?
It's your America. You let it happen.
YOU deal with it.

This is why I play video games
>>69129377
Tune out mainstream propaganda and support alternatives, even though it's not as easy as going with the flow? If enough people started to do this, things would change.
>>69129500
It's not really all that possible. I read the Times and WSJ. What else am I supposed to read? Are there any alternatives if you want to watch TV?
It's also kind of natural that they'd consolidate. I don't think that there's any sort of effort to put out propaganda. It's just an effort to extract more money from consumers, and to boost efficiency.
>>69129589
propaganda is the unavoidable outcome of all the media being controlled by the few regardless of original intent
there are tons of alternative entertainment and news sources
if current adults don't change their own habits then their children/future gens are easy pickings... thus things will only get worse
>>69129690
I don't think that what consolidated media does qualifies as propaganda, because they don't push a particular viewpoint for the sake of the viewpoint--they adopt viewpoints for the sake of money. There aren't that many alternative media sources with the same quality of the WSJ or the Times. They have credible reporters, well-researched stories, etc. whereas most "alternative" news outlets are batshit crazy and do actively (and obviously) push a viewpoint.

>they don't push a particular viewpoint for the sake of the viewpoint
sure thing boss, nice talking to ya

Night night lad.
inb4 antisemitism
>>69129845
It isn't antisemitic to point out facts, Shlomo.
>>69129845
I wonder what makes you say that?
>>69129926
Is it antisemitic to derisively call someone Shlomo?
>>69129949
Is it?

people need to put some thought into all of this
>>69129212
OMG, people that beleive in religion lead the way. ya we knows.

The all-out attack by the Jewish Supremacist “Anti-Defamation League” (ADL) on actor Gary Oldman for daring to mention that Jews run Hollywood has highlighted the fact that Jews can routinely boast about that fact- but if a Gentile says the same thing, they are attacked as “anti-Semites.”
I don't know about America but here in Australia is a fucking huge problem that ALMOST all of our media is owned by Rupert Murdoch.
70%+ owned by a SINGLE PERSON.
>>69130570
That's why propaganda is bad.
