In the first two books, he does stumble on some words and pronunciations, and that pissed me off (bry-een instead of brienne, puh-tyre instead of pet(e)yr, occasionally mixing up voices etc.)

It's not necessarily that bad, so to say, just the PoV characters get so repetitive and boring.
Most of the characters I just plain don't like are PoV characters in AFFC. For example: Arya, Fat Pink Mast, Sansa, Dornish Camera, Arianne of the Tower etc.
Brienne's chapters are also 50/50 love/hate it seems, as well. I liked them personally because it shows a different side of the war, and the after effects it has and the suffering and hardship it causes.
I also liked Victarions chapters as well, and Jaimes chapters, but the rest IMO were really boring and bland.

There is no way Theon could defeat Euron. Theon was an archer, which he can't even do anymore, and is not particularly skilled with any other weapon and is a bit scrawny and gimpy from torture.

There was a scene between Ramsay and Reek previously that implied his home is with Ramsey. Maybe he's brave enough to return to Ramsey under the guise of Reek in hopes of sabotaging Ramsey somehow. Books 4 --and 5 to some extent-- are harder to read because the POVs have nothing to do with each other. They're like appendixes with tons of histories and information on the deeper schemes.
In the first 3 books, all the POVs are basically focused on the same events from different perspectives, so the story flows much better.

But the show kinda messes him up. In my opinion:
Book: He's tough guy, in the sense that he's unwielding but smart enough to deal with stuff. He has a solid goal.
TV show: He smiles too often and seems too kind hearted. Not a problem, except he constantly MAKES problems, with his little minions always nearby to fuck shit up. He's more of a villain in the show.
