guys im feeling down because i just read that article about a Lucasarts veteran revealing what was originally planed for and after the OT
he said that Lucas "squished the plot of 3 movies into one" (RotJ)
according to the dude:

No offence meant but if you know the history of Star Wars then these facts were all known long time ago.
Notice, though, how Lucas is to 'blame' in this story rather than the more likely truth that the studio wanted everything to tie up everything in one film AND that the budget had to be kept reasonable.
Ironically, in today's market, I suspect RotJ AND RotS would have got a Part One and Part Two finale, doubling up the profits.

The weakest part of ROTJ, besides the Ewoks, was Luke ever being tempted by the Darkside.
He never was. It was almost like... something is missing from ROTJ, something innvolving Luke considering going dark.
I never felt there was any chance of Luke turning when Vader brought him to the Emperor.
Lucas had the same problem in ROTS turning Anakin to the Darkside. That felt very forced and unconvincing.

I always thought there was a missed opportunity to have Boba Fett fight with the Rebels in Jedi. The rebel assault on the Death Star should have been led by Han with Boba at his command. After they kill Jabba at the start, he would have had nowhere to go and the rebellion may have recognised his obvious skill and offered him a sizeable sum of money, just like they had money for Han in ANH.
