That moment you realized Zack Snyder was actually the only true artist making big budget films today:
>Too often I think studios and filmmakers have a preconceived notion of what audiences’ expectations will be based on a film’s genre. I believe this approach often sets a course that funnels many projects down a familiar pathway with comfortable choices and safe decisions. I’ll be the first to admit that sometimes this actually works, creating cinematic “comfort food” that delivers and satisfies. But more often than not, it leaves me as a viewer dissatisfied, wanting more and wishing I didn’t know what was waiting for me around every corner. That is why I like creating projects that are self-aware. In my opinion, the trick is being self-aware without becoming self-conscious, having an awareness of a project’s roots, but not being stifled by the typical genre pre-conceptions.

It's a shame his ideals clash with the blockbuster stuff he agrees to do.
Hypocritical even.
>>69083498
I don't see how they do at all.
In fact the ideal in that quote apply to both Man of Steel and Dawn of Justice quite well.

>But more often than not, it leaves me as a viewer dissatisfied, wanting more and wishing I didn’t know what was waiting for me around every corner.
>And this is why Batman gets raped in the prison in this scene
>"If only I could've gotten control of Batman sooner I could have produced my vision of Bruce Wayne getting brutally assraped by prisoners."
-Zach Snyder

Look what happened to Edgar Wright when he refused to follow the Disney formula
>>69083944
Yep, got cucked by Marvel
If WB were smart they would try to get Wright onto a movie like The Flash or something
>>69084007
>Wright version of the Flash
I like it. His hyper stylized techniques would work with the ADD though process of the Lord and Miller's script.

This is just sad. Is Snyder like your father figure or something? You know he's an incompetent moron, the world knows it too. You just have to look at his movies.
This troll is just sad to behold.

So you went to watch 300 last week.
This is the equivalent of a chef saying "Hamburgers, pizza and pie are comfort foods; they're no good and they leave you wanting more", then smashing a bunch of canned tuna and Cheerios together in a bowl and handing it to you.
>>69085680
Youre in Italy and someone smashes a bunch of cheese, meat, and sauce on circular bread and hands it you
"What the fuck is this?"
"Its pizzakino"
>>69083415
you must be trolling. Zack Snyder hasn't made a good movie in years, and 300 was only good because it was a testosterone heavy 2 hr long fight scene. None of his movies are legitimately "good" movies, though some are enjoyable to watch. He doesn't understand pacing, editing, or tone unless it involves lots of people getting wrecked.

Too bad Wright's version would make everyone a two dimensional asshole

>A reading from the Acts of Man of Steel
>Scene 2:13: Selected passages
>3 And I heard a loud voice from the cinema saying, "Look! Snyder's dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and Snyder himself will be with them and be their saviour.
>4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more repetitive or safe or cheap comedy or quips, for the old order of Marvel movies has passed away."
>13 And so they hated him, and persecuted him. The critics crucified him and threw rotten tomatoes at him.
>14 But he persevered and gained strength from the audience, and so we will persevere.
>15 And he stands by the right side of the spirit of Kino, and draws inspiration from it, and so will his followers.
>22 During the filming of the port battle at Batman v Superman, Snyder was found wandering along the port.
>23 In one of such instances he walked on water while carrying an IMAX camera on one hand, which greatly terrified his cast and crew at that time.
>24 Affleck, out of fear, shouted "Snyder, if it is you, tell me to come to the water!"
>25 "Come". Snyder said.
>26 Affleck stepped on the water and walked for a few feet but then sank. He cried out "Snyder, hast thou forsaken me? Save me, oh dear brother!"
>27 Immediately Snyder reached out his hand and caught him.
>28 Snyder exclaimed, "Bin Muhammad Afflecki, why did you doubt?"
>29 And so the heretic one vowed to spread the word.
