I'm saying I'm as happy as a Milhouse when movies use these soundtracks
(Though I feel as if Jazz hasn't been used In a crime /noir film in awhile. It's also good for spy movies)

What movie started the noir = jazz tradition? Was it Chinatown or something earlier?

Noir existed in the late 30s, early 40s w jazz scores. Chinatown is "neo-noir," employing the same style score.
I liked when movies / tv shows had a big jazzy horn section and when two characters fighting each other it sounded like the horns were hitting you
(Or however one would describe it: bleep boop, blap blooop)
Did The Third Man have a jazz soundtrack? It seemed jazzy but I don't know a lot about music

I had remembered it being something that was introduced later, and then it was like noir had always had jazz music.
