and I have to say star trk VI is really bad movie. Final Frontier was ten times better and a more fitting departure.

I know. The tng movies are trash you can skip. Especially when compared to the original movies.
Motion Picture will always be my favorite. Watched it as a kid, and it was spooky as fuck. All that slow tension, all that spooky music, all that mystery.
No matter how much I watch it, I still feel the same. Its great for all the buildup, and I have no idea why people shit on it so much.
Also, those screams from the transporter accident. Just imagining whatever was on the other side gave me nightmare visions of barely alive piles of melted flesh.least favorite movie is insurrection.

I was not even born when Motion picture was released, so that meant i viewed the movie years later on television, after watching most of the other films 2,3,4,5 , on vhs dvd etc so star trek motion picture looked crappy to my younger self without the red uniforms. :)

Any anons LOVE the Trek television shows but don't really care about the movies?
Even though TOS is dated, even though TAS is for kids, even though TNG is too antiseptic, even though DS9 doesn't go anywhere, even though Voyager had the worst writing, even though Enterprise had the whiniest captain, I still love all the Star Trek series and enjoy rewatching them regularly.
Even the next series looks interesting. Alex Kurtzman has some good TV credits (like Xena), Bryan Fuller is responsible for some of the best Voyager episodes (like Living Witness and Course: Oblivion), Nicholas Meyer is a trusted old hand, and Rod Roddenberry respects Star Trek but doesn't deify his father (who he saw as a drunken drugged-up bastard who was constantly cheating on Majel).
Meanwhile, Star Trek Beyond is going to be shit. Simon "It's not Khan" Pegg is full of shit and can't be trusted when he tries to convince us that it'll be good. It's going to be too fast and too furious for me.
And as for the classic movies? The soundtracks are the best part. I can get the best experience by playing the soundtracks on repeat and not have to worry about dumb shit like watching Kirk die or Data die or Sybok share his pain.

The "Director's Cut" can't add any more than three or four minutes. There's a few minor dialogue changes and only one substantial scene added which establishes when Kirk first boards that the dorky engineer that later dies when Khan attacks is Scotty's nephew. It's literally just, "Aye that engineer is my sisters son, Captain!" End scene.

No you turn dilithium in to zen and buy it that way. You can get everything you need without paying. It just takes a while to get to the level where you can afford to spend large amounts of in-game credits for weapons, etc.
Just try it for a few days to decide for yourself. Make a tactical officer, sci are OK but mostly healers but no one really heals, especially since the latest patch everyone can do mega DPS now. Engineering characters are tanks but they are pointless since enemies go down faster than people need to worry about tanking for.
