The Scorpion King is a spin off of The Mummy franchise, which in turn is the second reboot of the original 1930s Mummy Film series from Universal; there was a first reboot in the 1950s.
The Scorpion King Itself has fully developed into its own series, and has gone on to have three sequels.
In 2017, Universal plans to release a fourth imagining of The Mummy franchise, headlined by Tom Cruise.
