I know this is a hitposting thread, but I agree, while I like some James Bond movies, Mission Impossible feels like it's actually about the mission, all James Bond has is a bland protagonist and an interesting villain to carry themovie.

MI5 felt more Bond like than the last few Bonds.

Mission Impossible movies at least know what they are and don't try to over reach. They don't need to be anything more than Ethan Hunt in a series of precarious situations that he barely escapes from until he outwits the villain at the end

I realized that after the last entries from each. After Abram's shitty MI, I thought it was dead, but the last 2 were enjoyable and Tom is a great lead. On the other hand, Bond has been mediocre at best since Casino Royale and I don't care about Craig's Bond. I literally give zero shits after Spectre.

The reason Bond films have failed is because it takes them ages to fucking made them and now we will be waiting up to 4 years until the next film fucking comes out.

Bond died after Casino, it was a fluke that Skyfall rated so well but you can see with them stopping to make anymore Bond games after Skyfall was released that the series has died.

It's probably the only Cruise movie where they were able to suppress his charisma. Why would I want to watch an MI where Tom Cruise is basically a non factor?
