The original
I've been watching the British one and I was wondering if the US version is worth watching. If I like The Office UK, will I like the American one?
They very different shows.
I watched the British one years ago and it was fine.
I watched the American this month, the first few episodes the style is very similar but then it goes a different way, it's pretty endearing but there are some utterly shit episodes and if you are watching it for the first time again, do not watch season 9 it's worthless.

Season 1 of US Office is practically a 1 on 1 recreation of the UK Show. Hell the first episode is the exact same script with the only changes being that they Americanized things (replaced Camilla Bowles with Hillary Clinton).
Season 2 they actually made it it's own thing and if you like other US Sitcoms you probably will like the US Office. Just keep in mind that when Steve Carell leaves the show it becomes pretty shitty quickly.

UK version captures real office life better and the humour all comes from the observational bits, there's no gags.
US version is probably funnier since it's a more conventional comedy with jokes, but like every US show it was driven into the ground.

The original was a cynical, yet hopeful show.
The addition of Greg "King of The Hill" Daniels to the production team for the US show meant that beneath it's cutesy exterior, it was a nihilistic celebration of middle-American mediocrity.
Which is why, at least as long as Steve Carrell was on it, the US show stood head and shoulders over the original.
