any drive-ins still operating where you live?
>>68983680
Yeah, and every year they keep saying it's the last year it'll be open because of reasons, yet every year it keeps on coming back.
>>68983680
Yes
>>68983680
3, but theyre only open for about 4 or 5 months out of the year so they dont make much money.
Yes. I haven't been there in years but when I was in high school/college it was fun to go there during the summer and drink bear and half watch the movie with friends.
>>68983680
Yeah, I'm glad, I go to it some times with my family.
>>68983680
Can somebody explain why they began to go out of business?
>>68983680
At least one.
I'd like to start a modern one, but I dunno how to run a business.
>>68983680
Yeah they still exist, here's my local one
>>68984152
Go for it anon, but make sure to start a business plan.
Planning is the most important part, and with the internet you can learn everything and reach a huge audience. You can do it anon, I believe in you.
>>68983680
yes, good place to get a blow job
there was one about an hour away from me growing up, it showed new releases but i think it closed down
the one in my town now is owned by a big cineplex corp, but only shows classics and only in the summer
>>68984191
Fallout reference?
>>68984274
Forgive me for being pleb but what do you mean?
>>68984336
Van Buren was the code name for the original Fallout 3
Also the remnants of drive in theaters can be found in the games
>>68983680
in ohio, there are plenty since it's a flyover state.
Pic related one of the ones I've been to
>>68984496
neat
>>68984151
i guess the novelty wore off and people realized theaters were comfier and more convenient
>>68984591
That's a shame, you can get pretty comfy in the back of a car.
Only went to a drive in once. Two movies, first was Godzilla 1998, second was You've Got Mail
i was 9 and hated both of them
>>68984706
>being 9
>hating Godzilla 1998
>>68984736
I wanted to like it, that's why I went, but it sucked.
Yeah and it's so much better and cheaper on a nice night with lawn chairs and beer than fucking shitty ass standard movie theatres
>>68984668
no one's going to look at you all weird if you pull out a flask, too
yea but it's in fucking Florida, who thought that was a good idea
>>68983680
Tulsa here
And yes.
I remember seeing the mummy when it came out
>mfw drive-ins are unheard of in NL
>>68984804
>mummy
>>68983680
in modern drive-ins do they use the speaker next to the car thing, or is sound over the radio?
>>68984831
>NL

>>68984879

>>68984879
The one I went to had sound over the radio
>>68984881
I think that fellow is in Canadia
>>68984879

>>68984881
My bad
>>68985044
But those dubs aren't unheard of
>mfw lost virginity at a drive in while 'watching' kids movie last year
>>68984804
My first drive-in memory is going to see The Mummy
Started storming towards the end of it, the lightning in the distance made for a pretty cool effect.
>>68985137
>kids movie
what was it, anon? you can tell us
>>68985137
was he cute?
>>68985137
Shame on you for betraying your nephew's trust like that, anon.
>>68985193
>>68985214
kekles, I should have expected this.
>>68985174
Pixar movie, i really did like the girl, parted ways for uni, never thought I'd lose my wizard apprenticeship like that desu senpai
>>68985310
aww that's cute
>>68985310
What do you think of the guy who is drilling her now?
>>68983680
Yup. The guy/family who owns it is filthy fucking rich from other stuff so he probably doesn't care about how much money he makes (loses?) from his drive in
>>68984151
Because the car culture itself changed. When they sprang up the car was the only way for the teenager to hide away from the parents, smoke, drink a beer and have sex. "Parking" was such a widespread phenomena that some towns made it illegal, and others had certain approved spots that'd get checked in on by the local cops on a regular basis, to try and curb the rate of teen pregnancies. Drive-In movies fit perfectly with this.
Nowadays you can go to the cinema with your girlfriend and kiss there without some frustrated old biddy gasping at the moral monstrosity of the act. Or at least the old biddy isn't taken seriously at the town meeting.
>>68985542
Hopefully he's bigger than me.
Who Bengies here?
>>68984496
comfy
>>68984782
What's wrong with drive ins in Florida? I like the one in Lakeland.
>>68985164
Holy hell this would be the perfect movie to see in that sort of setting
I have two, one has two screens and the other has three
The one with three is shit
