He's clever, resourceful, and kills for pleasure. Just like them. Maybe he prefers to do his work in secret but that doesn't mean he won't also be able to be dangerous in other settings.

They're not doing it to be warriors, it's for the fun of it all, the game. If he DOES end up killing all the others, they can take solace in knowing they finished off the dude who was capable of killing all the other humans using trickery and manipulation.
Incidentally, any of the humans could have killed each other at any point, they were all pretty volatile human beings, the doctor/Grace just happened to be the most broken of them all.
