HWAS is by far the best of the "grindhouse revival" films coming out because it never winks at its audience. It plays its ridiculous concept deadly straight, and it actually feels like an exploitation movie rather than a parody of one.

Just finished it.
I was really impressed. While it was cheesy as all fuck, it never seemed like it was trying to be cheesy, or purposefully being like "HA HA WE'RE SO FUCKING WACKY WITH OUR VIOLENCE AND SHINY COLOR PALETTE". It just...was.
Speaking of the violence/color palette, holy shit they did a great job with that. I don't know how the hell they did the lighting for this but it was cool as all hell.
I felt like Badass Abby could have gotten more screentime, her character was built pretty well but with the Lawnmower Shield and shotgun-axe you'd think she'd get even more badass than she did. Still, if they do end up making a Plague spinoff I'd be more than happy to see her take her rightful throne as Grinder's successor.
