What's /tv/'s opinions on the 90s X-Men cartoon? Been going through it recently and it's better (if undeniably flawed) than what I've read about it.

I can't remember much of it since the show was from when I was pre-literate, but I was quite fond of Evolution in the 2000s. Revisited it a few years ago and... cartoons are for children.

Not gonna lie.
Nostalgia for the Xmen cartoon, as well as the comics, is the primary reason why I enjoyed Days of Future Past, and am looking forward to Apocalypse.
MCU may be the superior cinematic universe, but, Xmen did it first, and a bit longer. And their payoff is here: Apocalypse. Even if it doesn't do well, or could be the last Xmen movie, at least they reached Apocalypse. Marvel still has a few more years before they can do Thanos, and Darkseid..... yeah. you get the idea.
tl;dr I have fond memories of the Xmen cartoonNote: There is a viewing order to watching the animated series from the second season onwards. Season 1 is pretty straight forward, but season 2 onwards has a screwed up chronology. I'll post the correct chronology when I find it

Arguably, they;re about even... but then I remember Xmen also had the worst Marvel movie: Xmen origins wolverine. Which is a lot worse than MCU's worst: Thor the dark world. Which, that wasn't THAT bad. The wolverine movie was far worst.
Also MCU had the higher budget, sometimes the higher stakes, and, atm, the bigger popularity. So I would say MCU might seem to be the superior cinematic universe but, technically, I think they could be about equal.
I guess it just depends on whether you're an Avengers person, or an Xmen person.Also the MCU has more varied hero types and better music. And MCU has more A to B listers, while Xmen is full of C listers

I sometimes think that the MCU is better than the Xmen universe but... godammit I love Days of Future Past as much the Winter Soldier. Both came out at the same time and really showed what the respective Avengers and Xmen universes could do. And I've been with the Xmen movies longer.
So I think they could also be equal. It indeed is a matter of opinion.

The rest of the seasons were by Fox.
The last few episodes were terribly animated, but still comfy. It says something when, even when the last episode of the series looked terrible, the story was still p. good.
Can't you Americans make an animated series the whole history of the X-men?

xmen cartoon was great
the story arcs were great. high energy.
Shiar/Phoenx saga > Apocalypse saga > Magnetos History > Days of future past saga > wolverine/alpha flight > sentinels/genosha > Omega red > Sauron/Savage lands
