I agree with you completely on this one, I didn't like it. At the very least they could have included a "Rey studied Jedi legends" scene, but they didn't even do that (rumored cut scenes don't count). Still wouldn't have made it a good idea though.

Couple reasons for this. First, he's emotionally a child who uses fear and intimidation as his most powerful weapon. He's likely never had a "real" fight, at least not one without all his stormtrooper boys or "knights of ren" backing him up. Rey on the other hand has been shown to have melee weapon combat experience, and the roughness of her planet implies she's been quite a few tough scrapes, probably had to learn to fight off rape gangs while scavenging portions. Additionally, not only was Kylo in a complete emotionally wrecked state from having just killed his father, but he also took a goddamn wookie bowcaster blast to the gut, something that's been shown to launch troopers straight up into the air. He was in an immense amount of physical and mental anguish and this likely compromised his ability to fight.

I don't understand what you're asking, a lightsaber is just an object, there's no reason why a non-jedi can't hold or activate it. See Empire.

I don't know, but then clones were never a big deal in the original trilogy. The most we get is a passing reference to Obi-Wan's service in "the clone wars". The "every stormtrooper is a clone" was never established as a major plot point in-movie until the prequels.
