Why did this show make such big waves in popular culture? In 2010 it was fucking huge, everybody was talking about it. Every late night host had a snide comment about Snooki, the entire cast was appearing in music videos, various members would do bits at Comedy Centrals roasts and other establishment media events.

Situation made the show. The first two seasons were the best, that's when he was the leader of the crew. Then the show went south pretty quick.
Geordie Shore is way more consistent, they're on their 12th season and it's still as entertaining as when it started.
