Just stop watching after season 4, there is lesbian subtext during the first four seasons but it's subtle and inoffensive. During the last two seasons they begin pandering to bulldykes and it gets ridiculous
Hercules, especially the earlier seasons, is shit because Raimi and Tapert were still cutting their teeth with television and trying to figure out the formula for a successful show. By the time Xena came out they had worked out the problems which is why it's an overall better show
That said, a lot of mid to late Hercules is just as good if not better. It does kind of turn to shit towards the end when they start running out ideas and it's just Herc globe-trotting in an attempt to get non-Greek gods in for variety, no matter how anachronistic it all ends up.
