Lives of Others is too convenient (contrived, as the other poster said) to be worth mentioning. The fat villain guy is like a Disney villain, who just does "bad" shit because "grr I'm bad". (Pan's Labyrinth suffers the same 2-D horror.)
It's also way too convenient that this one guy is so affected by the lives he's watching—one imagines it never happened and only happens in this movie because the writer made it so.
Kind of sad how it turned out, frankly.

Almodóvar's movies are gay as fuck, which is why they're popular with the kitschy 2000's kiddos. I've not seen La piel que habito, but I've seen everything else he made (including the really, really bad Los amantes pasajeros).
