It's quite sad (4 you) that you haven't watched a TV show with a group of friends/mild acquaintances before. It's a unique social experience that can be, yes, quite frustrating, but also a ton of fun.
During season 4 of GoT I had a group of friends I watched the show with. All of us were book readers, and we were all deeply invested in seeing how the show would handle plot points and characters. It was a blast to watch everybody's reactions and share our emotions together.
Yet, I think I'd enjoy group watching GoT more now than in previous seasons. During S4 and earlier, the show was still fairly close to the books. We knew (mostly) what was going to happen, and the show's quality was still decent, so we would be legitimately upset when somebody was talking over a good bit. But now, The show is becoming so fucking terrible that there's no point in trying to watch it seriously anymore. It's much more fun to meme and joke around together than try to get take this crap seriously.

The way they’ve ruined Ellaria’s character is TERRIBLE. Like the Sand Snakes are supposed to a little out of control but Ellaria is the one who stays their hand.
And last but definitely not least let’s talk about the biggest upset this show could ever fucking do to me, Doran’s death. I’m still so pissed about this idek what to say except, in response to the bullshit excuse that they killed him because he’s weak and he didn’t do anything to defend Oberyn.

It's one of the properties of MAGIC. There's plenty of different forms of magic.
