Brienne is pretty far from a Mary Sue. She's a competent warrior (and being a gargantuan giantess who was raised like a knight, why shouldn't she be?), but up until the last two episodes she failed at literally everything she attempted. The show has thrown some contrivances at her for convenience recently, but that's bad plotting more than it is a problem with the character.

Granted I think that scene was poorly executed. They shouldn't have been armored, and they also should have played up Brienne's size difference more than they did. Ramsay sent people to find Sansa and Theon, neither of whom present much of a challenge in terms of combat. The scene would have played out much better if she was up against some skinny, ill equipped farmhands instead of fully armored knights.

5. Readers of the books complained that Brienne wandered around in AFFC too much. So, in order to make them happy, Brienne is now far better at being where she needs to be.

Female agency should have been introduced LAST SEASON with Sansa instead of having that truly horrific and genuinely upsetting rape scene. I am still seething about that. 2.Doran didn't kill Obara out of respect for family. They are his nieces. And besides, Doran would rather deal in peace than confrontation. He's a merciful man.
If that's not a good enough answer for you, then consider this: what would happen if Obara was executed? The other sand snakes, would have to kill him then. So the decisions might have been made for the sake of self preservation.
3. He got stabbed in the spine. Even if he wanted to fight, his body would fail him, and the poison on the blade would act very quickly.
5. Brienne was looking for the candle as Sansa's signal. Sansa lit the candle just before the battle began. So presumably, Brienne kills Stannis, notices the candle, realizes Sansa is in need, hears the search party go out, and follows.
