Kino is literally art house film, the 2 examples given here. it's GARBAGE that pretends to be movies. So this is why BvS is 'Kino' it's just images flashing by, simulating motion. It's hardly good, or watchable.

The original intention was to describe films which could be considered a sublime aesthetic experience regardless of their other merits or faults.
Now autistic retards spammed it to death because god forbid we actually try and discuss the merits and qualities of movies on /tv/.
I know it won't work, but deep down I'm hoping /film/ does something to help movie discussion on 4chan, right now it's absolutely disgusting. This place makes /v/ look like a BBC debate.

flick - little/no substance. shut off your brain and popcorn it up.
movie - somewhere between flick and film. usually man vs. societal obstacles and bullshit, someone gets wronged, etc, but not as heavy on themes..
film - may feel like a movie (or occasionally cinema) but this is where themes get heavy and become the focus. usually on some level it boils down to man vs himself or dealing with the unchangable, and the struggle and conflict is mostly internalized. very philosophical.
cinema - artistically pushing the medium and its form in order to share something, usually personal, with the audience. generally unconventional and more emotional and slightly less intellectual and heady than films.
kino - very hard to define because its designed to strike at something deeper in the viewer, and lots of viewers and lots of kinos are simply incompatible. usually has noticeable pieces of other categories operating on multiple levels that you are not easily consciously aware of; the primary focus though is on heart and energy. on some level, kino must be a visceral experience.
