I know it's overused as an excuse, but BvS is literally a case of critics and audiences "not getting it." Marvel has saturated the market to such a degree that most audiences aren't capable of understanding the intricacies of the film. It confuses them, this makes them angry, and as a result they misplace their anger towards the film and Snyder. It essentially boils down to hating something you don't understand.

Saw a little kid cover his eyes when Lois was in the bath tub so funny. But seriously the movie wasn't trying to be safe, a crowd pleaser, general audience/light movie. Presents things like time travel and parademons without a word. Bruce is angry all the time, constant nightmares and is triggered by his parents. Superman is Clark with Lois, Martha and at work but the rest of the time people are trying to murder him or people he loves. His villains literally survive nukes and threaten to burn people to death etc. It's a fucked up movie so I enjoyed it but I get why a critic or pleb/casual would be butthurt by it. I'm looking forward to the directors cut. I suspect there was studio interference. The whole missing Yuga Khan scene explained alot of what Luthor was working on ie killing the earths protector for Darkseid shit. Yay mother boxes btw.
