The point is that they're making as many sequels in the next 3 years as they did in their first 20. That doesn't seem like something a creatively healthy studio would do.
Ultimately they make movies for kids and kids are dumb, they don't want good stories they just want shit that is funny and repetition. For Pixar their most profitable movies are Cars, which they are also their least critically acclaimed.

Disney's in-house CGI got gud and they don't need them anymore. Casual moviegoers just think Tangled sand Frozen are Pixar movies anyway. We don't need the hypocritical, preachy messages of Pixar anymore. Disney's are ironic and snarky for the modern age. Now Pixar is desperately slathering make-up on to remind us of when they were pretty.
