I prefer TLW up to the point where Jeff Goldblum's black daughter uses gymnastics to boot a raptor twice her size through a wall. from that point on the movie is awful, but before it provides the nostalgic feel of discovering the dinosaurs again.

this. those fucking kids are annoying enough to scrape a point off the score. the scene where Lex turns the flashlight on and points it into the sky like a spotlight for the t-rex is enough to scrape another point off. still a solid 8/10 though. that's Spielberg for you. throw in a pair of extremely annoying characters and it's still a great movie.

The amount of CGI (and somewhat dated CGI at that) brought the movie down, but it was miles above a SyFy movie, mainly because it had a budget. I mean, it's not Patrick Muldoon in Ice Spiders.
I think the worst thing about JP3 is the lack of a great climax, since you don'tget a final "fight" with the Spinosaurus, and the army cheesily appears out of nowhere.
That said it is paced pretty well, being only 90 minutes, which means it entertainingly moves from one chase scene to the next.
