Sandler is a money machine. He printed money for Sony until the email leak revealed the shit talking from the execs. Low intelligent people, ultra-plebs, morons, tasteless boors, and children love his flicktures.
The last Sandler movie I enjoyed was That's My Boy, and I think that's because Sandler really brought his B-game to the character to keep from being overshadowed by Samberg or Vanilla Ice.

The point isn't to produce a "killer app" type show that sells your subscriptions on its own, the point is to build a library of content that's exclusive to their website. So any one show or movie isn't that important, but put them all together to make up a library that can't be found anywhere else, and hopefully that's worth an $8 monthly subscription for most people.
But all that aside, I think you're underestimating Sandler's appeal to the lowest common denominator. Idiots love his shit and his movies often make lots of money, even while scoring abysmally on RT

I was actually pretty onboard with this until the halfway mark reveal that Sandler's actually a semi-bipolar crook and not an FBI agent who fakes their deaths and then it turns into a runaway movie.
