The head was based on a British TV show character compined with that musician with skizophrenia, some people thought the movie was about frank sidebotton but it's not. He's name wad frank and his dad made him a frank sidebottom head otherwise no relation with Frank and frank in filth

They commissioned a Frank Sidebottom film just before the IRL comedians death. What you see in Filth is actual Frank Sidebottom: a cult Britbong figure. The planned film was okied to use his likeness and what you got instead was a Captain Beefheart type musician.
Its odd that Frank Sidebottom will now be associated only by image and not what he did.
