is there a better ww2 film?
>>68133001
I'm not sure I'd really call this a WW2 film.
Sure, it's set in WW2 and follows soldiers, but that's not really germane to the film itself.
>>68133059
you are a pretentious cunt
>>68133001
It's a great film abd great musical score.
I saw it pretty young in the theatres andcdidntvknow what to make of it, but it's really stuck with me abd doesn't pander to women and SJWs like saving private Ryan did
>>68133089
How is that pretentious? It's true. The Thin Red Line is just like any Terrence Malick movie. It's a heavy-handed pseudodeep meditation on the human condition and the meaning of life and suffering. It's bad like all his flims. Maybe there are guns and uniforms but it isn't about WW2.
>>68133001
obejectivelly kino
Any of his movies is worse than The Fountain.
Debate me atheists.
Yeah Das Boot. Now fuck off
>>68133110
>pander to women and SJWs like saving private Ryan did
wut
>>68133309
Saving Private Ryan has some serious problems but at least it isn't a four hour wankfest with zero storyline. I don't think it panders either.
>>68133141
>bad like all his films
Heh heh ,my fren. Ur opinion is epic - simply epic :^)
>>68133089
He's kind of right though.
>>68133001
That film sucked
>Let's kill off all the really good actors 5 minutes after they show up
>Pretentious monologue's every 10 minutes
>So fucking in love with itself as "art"
I want my 3 hours back.
>>68133141
Leave Terry alone
THIN HAIR LINE?????
>>68133357
Terrence Malick is garbage. Bad CGI dinosaurs an no dialogue are simply not interesting. It doesn't matter how good the actors are if the script is crap.
>>68133001
the poster is pretty funny thinking about those three guys huddling their heads like that
>>68133386
Film is art, anon. Or do you beg to differ?
>>68133388
Stop torturing us (and especially famous actors who for some reason think you're the second coming of Kubrick) with your garbage movies you pretentious faggot!
>>68133397
Wrong thread. Nothing personnel, kid.
>>68133420
Film can be art, but just like any art form, sometimes a 3deep5u pops up and convinces people he's great when he really sucks huge donkey balls and has a totally shallow, empty, pointless vision.
>>68133089
That is one way to defend your point.
>>68133466
What films do you consider artistic achievements?
>>68133089
/r/killyourself
>>68133443
Malick is nothing like Kubrick
>>68133476
>defends malick
>calls people pretentious
toppest of keks
Anti-malick fedoratippers, go away, your kind isn't welcome here.
>>68133404
>missing the entire point of the dinosaur only because of the cgi
>thinking that a movie must be carried only by dialog
pleb or bait
tell me now because i have to leave in any second
>>68133543
MIDF pls
go watch grass grow somewhere else
>>68133500
Anything Snyder or Nolan does, obviously.
In all seriousness, Avatar can be called an artistic achievement in terms of effects and cinematography without sacrificing plot, even though I'm not a huge fan of it.
Beyond the Black Rainbow was visually and stylistically very interesting.
2001, obvs. Even fucked up movies made 30 or 40 years later because they keep copying it.
>>68133558
IT DIDN'T HAVE DIALOGUE BUT IT'S STILL GREAT
if I wanted a silent film I'd build a time machine
>>68133533
I don't think the guy you're replying to ever called anyone pretentious
>>68133659
no, he replied to the guy who called me pretentious my dude
>>68133404
>>68133653
This is what genuinely stupid people actually believe
>>68133629
But Beyond the Black Rainbow was purely 80s nostalgia fetishism. There is really nothing interesting about the film, or anything of substance. I'd hardly call that an artistic achievement.
>>68133001
> not knowing the only real WW2 happened in Europe.
>>68133597
I will and I'll enjoy it
>>68134057
Hush, you might hurt the plebs feelings
