ITT: Books that would make great films
Spaghetti: the movie

How would that even work? Latro forgets everything every day
>>68123311
Well the film wouldn't be shot from his perspective like the book. The plot would still progress but the audience would know that Latro will forget.

Raymond E. Feist's Magician
Don't know why this hasn't happened yet
>>68123149
Holy shit, that reminds me that I need to read Book of the New Sun again
>>68125353
Too much to take on + people don't read any more. All future fantasy is going to be based off of video game plot lines
That trilogy by Jeff Vandermeer, Annihilation and the others.
I just checked and it is getting made. Oscar Isaacs and Natalie Portman are in it.
>>68125353
I think Magician, Silverthorn and A Darkness at Sethanon would do well as a three season TV show, less as a trilogy of films. There's a lot of stuff going on like >>68125403 mentioned.

why do that when we can just make video games have plots on tier with film and books
>>68125548
i don't know anon, i'll get my people on it.
>>68125548
They wouldn't be video games then. Games are a different medium, the play comes before the thought.

The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask.
>>68125576
I too, have read the wikipedia page on this great American novel.
>>68125618
Developed off Ocarina's system of gameplay. They just designed the story around a new way of traversing dungeons and the town.
>>68125647
is this a /lit/ meme
>>68125650
But it was a fantastic story. Full of multiple interwoven plotlines and with an added narrative device of time travel. It shows that a video game can be made with both interesting gameplay and excellent plot.
>>68125576
But they couldn't show wherehe rapes his sister in the endon the big screen?
>>68125688
I've never liked RedLetterMedia. Who wants to watch a bunch of asshole get drunk and talk about garbage movies?
pretty much 90% of film is adapted from books.

Imajica by Clive Barker.
Probably a trilogy it's so big, possibly even a TV series due to the insane amount of violence and kinky sex. Guillermo Del Toro would be good for all the creatures and worlds. Even the SJW couldn't hate it as one of the main characters is a gender bender black alien ninja killing machine. Which sounds gay but its actually pretty cool.
my favorite idea ive had is an hbo miniseries based on this book
for you guys who havent read it, each chapter basically tells the interesting stories of these characters who all live on this street in trinidad, with them all intertwining and making this really great sense of a breathing community
>>68125247
He completely blew out idealism

The Brothers Lionheart by Astrid Lindgren.
It's set to be directed by Tomas Alfredson, and has been in development hell for a few years now.
>>68127802
Who is the "faggot kid with terrible parents that used a pencil or pen to solve all the puzzles in the waiting room, thus ruining the chance for anyone else to enjoy them" of /tv/?
The cgi would be absolutely shit and dated within a year, so it would have to be animated desu sempai
Any Neal Stephenson book, they're extremely movie-like so they'd be easy to adapt.
Though they're so long they'd do better as HBO miniseries rather than movies.
>>68125492
It would be cool if they stick to the book but we all know they wont and make it womyn stronk and explosions that the lowest common denominator tend to love
>>68127957
aw shit I remember reading it as a child, it was awesome
It would be an instant favorite on this board.
>>68123149
Actually "Book of the Long Sun" would be the perfect Gene Wolfe to adapt.
