YOU NEED A 4K HDR TV not just any regular 4K tv. Otherwise the colors will look WORSE than a normal blu ray.
The cheapest 4k player is $400 at the moment.

Just stick to 4k streaming for now. Vudu has 4k movies but you need a vizio m series tv or a roku 4k ($130) box to play them.
I've tried them all and ended up returning both my 4k blu ray player and HDR tv ($1600) because it's not that fucking great.

Also if you do get a 4k Tv just get a Vizio D or M series tv. They're the best for the price. The quality is cleaner and they're gaming friendly. other higher end brands like Samsung and Sony have horrible lag when gaming and also have nasty fuzzy or grainy artifacts upclose.
I fear that studios will try to get away with upscales for a lot of shit because it'll be harder for the average person to notice than an SD to HD upscale
